I've seen this on some other forums, and I figured I'd bring it here.

Basically, you rate the song above you out of 100, and then post a new song for the person below you to rate. Make comments about the song if you want.

Example:

Yes: "Close to the Edge"
Rating:100/100

The standard prog masterpiece!

Now, here's the song for the person below me to rate:

Opeth: "Haxprocess"

Opeth: "Haxprocess"
4/10, I'm not a fan of that album at all because it is boring, just like that individual track

Tangerine Dream - "Hyperborea"

5/10 because mainly what that album does is make me wish it was Stratosfear

Makajodama: "The Girls at the Marches"
5.5/10 - I saw a lot of potential there, but a lot of the song ended up plodding on with a fairly standard chord progression. It built up a bit during the latter half, but not enough. Post-rocky stuff like that needs more climax.

Echolyn: "Here I Am"

Echolyn - "Here I Am"
65/100 - A little bit better than my expectations, not a bad track. I thought the chorus was a bit weak, but some other parts that showed up were quite good actually. Nice ending.

This Heat - "Makeshift Swahili"

This Heat - "Makeshift Swahili"
Not my cup of tea. The dark organ makes the first two minutes of this Industrial/Wave/RIO/Avant track somewhat listenable while the vocals turn me off. The break at 1:51 indicates that this band has some interesting ideas, but it turns into a mess quite soon and fades away slowly. Just give it a listen to decide if it is interesting for you. My reaction is a makeshift kwaheri.
My rating: 46/100

Hamadryad: "Lost"
I enjoyed that a lot. A bit of DT impersonation, but the organ tone gave it a retro feel that separated it from that obvious influence. Pretty excellent stuff, I must say.
Rating: 76/100

John Zorn: "Blue"

John Zorn "Blue"
Im one of those weirdos who love this kind of music, great atmosphere. The noise section at the four minute mark was awesome. Not a favorite piece but when Im in the right mood I can dig this all day.
80/100

Psychotic Waltz - Into the Everflow
Not my favorite of theirs, but definitely a solid track. The highlight for me was around the 6:30 mark and then all the way through the solo. This reminded my to check out the rest of their discog as I only have the first two albums.
70/100

Anywhere - Dead Golden West
