Guess I'm bound to make one of these little things eventually.
Hi, I'm Andy Webb. I'm not so new to this place so I thought I'd make a thread to introduce myself. Well that makes no sense but anyway, away from being a collaborator here, not many know I also produce albums now and then.
Perhaps "produce albums" isn't the best phrase, because all I really do is compose music and then have Guitar Pro spit it out in a "Real Sound Emulator/Engine/Thing." It may not sound the greatest, but I do it anyway for some reason. But anyway.
I've been composing for a while now, probably four or five years. I mainly made stupid little songs or pointlessly short and useless pieces, but as my knowledge of music and my creative spirit grew, so did my desire to write actual songs, and so many of the pieces I've released so far come from that. I've written and "recorded" several hours of material, but a lot of it is quite, well, bad, so I've not bothered to compile it into albums. I have, however, released two full studio albums as well as, most recently, a short EP, which I have released on my bandcamp. And that's where it begins:
My first foray is Echoes (Oct 2010), a not-really-concept album but kind-of-concept album about, as I see it, the movement of materials through processes. It's stupid especially because the whole thing is instrumental, but I enjoyed thinking I could have made it a concept album. So yea.

My second album came soon after, Imperfectopolis (Jan 2011), which is another psuedo-concept album about the dark side of society and the world that we're coming to. Or, again, at least that's what it would have been about if I had spent any time writing lyrics. Anyway, the music on this album is a lot darker, and I even made a trippy ambient piece (not out of programming but of sampling this time). And don't ask me why I made Ethereal Reality 37 minutes long, it just felt right back then. http://andywebb.bandcamp.com/album/imperfectopolis" rel="nofollow - http://andywebb.bandcamp.com/album/imperfectopolis
Finally, just released, is my first EP Dreamscapes (Mar 2012). This EP is made up of old songs that I had written a while ago and had forgotten about until earlier today, so I spent a few hours (okay it was just one hour) making them sound a little better and putting them on Bandcamp. I tried to go with a soundscape-y feel along this one, with each song kind of exploring a different landscape. I'll let you decide how successful I was. http://andywebb.bandcamp.com/album/dreamscape" rel="nofollow - http://andywebb.bandcamp.com/album/dreamscape
And there we have it, my three albums. They're all free, but I left my most recent release as as "pay what you want" in case you want to support a young artist. Maybe if I get enough funds my next album will be with real instruments. Maybe.
But anyway, enjoy the music, or don't listen to it. Pretty simple I guess.
Bye now.
