Oscars tonight. Nominated or not, what movie in your opinion from 2011 deserves that gold statue?

I have a tie between Marcy Martha May Marlene and Puss In Boots.

...actually I think those were the only two I saw in 2011.

Inspired by http://www.theartsdesk.com/film/oscars-2012-who-will-who-should-who-wont" rel="nofollow - this :

The Artist
should and will.
Dujardin should and will, except the Academy pull a sh*tty move with Clooney.
Streep will (probably - after all, who knows, she's only been denied the past 20 years and 12 nominations!!). Tilda Swinton (not even on the list) should have, IMO.
Supporting Actorr... ??????? All I know is that Jonah Hill being on the list pisses me off.
Supporting Actress: Octavia Spencer should, might / might not. I don't care much, les actrices really didn't shine much this year.

We went out to no movies in 2011.  You can be certain that the newest movie being hyped this year so far is best oscar worthy thing ever though.

Sad to say the only reason for going out to the movies these days is that you like to pay for overpriced concessions and like sticky floor and obnoxious viewers who aren't related to you talking out loud saying things that you didn't need to hear.

I used to enjoy going out to the movies you know.  Unhappy

I love music more than movies, yet I am more interested in Oscars than Grammys.

Multi millionaires, slapping each other on the back for making films.

I'm pushed to think of anything I care less about.

I think I only saw 2 movies in theaters last year and of the two X-Men: First Class was better.  Was not a year that brought me out to the movies, neither was last year, nor the year before.  Hollywood just continues to make movies that piss me off and are continuing the trend this year by sh*tting all over The Lorax and Three Stooges.

I don't think I could sit through a silent movie.  Wasn't it in black and white too?

Yes.I didn't think I would like it either and my wife sort of dragged me to see it,but I ended up thoroughly enjoying it.

I don't mind silent movies, especially classics like Metropolis and Nosferatu.

Except that those two ones had got soundtracks by Art Zoyd, DG 307, In The Nursery, etc... I'm still waiting for Art Zoyd's take on the Artist.

Especially if the colorize it, make it 3D and add a kewl modern soundtrack. Tongue

I'm going to ignore the OP and comment on the topic.  Yes I am very proud of my Oscars and worked really hard to not get them.
