who would you say is the top 5 players in tennis of all time, and were would hte three curent greats be in such list (Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic) be ranked in such a list, im no expert but i have always had a soft spot for the Swiss gentleman, and his finess as a player, ofcourse Djoko and Nadal is besting him now, becouse they have a more energetic and tireless style but when Federer was at his prime he was a monster player, but who is the best of all time -------------

My favourite has always been Henri Leconte. I was very into tennis in my teens, and moreover a member of the Danish national team for a period. Training 2-3 hours every day, sponsors, travels and whatnot. Then I learned about beer, weed and women and everything went woooosah, but it was fun while it lasted though. ------------- “The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. i was a fan of Marat Safin when he was active, i liked that he at his best was really good but also when had a bad day he played really bad aswell, but he could as 117 play as good as a top 10 ranked player, but he could on a bad day loose to a 200 ranked player, but, when you have won two grand slams, he were among the best players for some time. also his temper is fun to watch on TV -------------

Yeah - I love Henri Leconte for the exact same reasons Also Michael Chang - but that was only because he looked like a person that was comprised of two different body builds. The upper body was his own - thin like a prisoner of war or maybe a marathon runner - and then the lower part of his body clearly belonged to a steroid using horse. Man he looked crazy! Reminds me, if you look at Nadal - you can also see a distinct difference between his left and right side. He's much bigger on his "playing side". | I didn't catch Federer at his peak so for me the most powerful expression of total dominance I've seen has to be Sampras' '90s. |

Nobody is saying it for sure, but everyone is close to saying Federer. Career-wise and mastery-wise. I'm starting to accept that myself. I've never ever been a fan of Mr. Perfect, but it wouldn't have been the same without him. I myself couldn't say who is the GOAT (greatest of all time), because I can't compare much. To be honest, I became a tennis fan under Roger and Rafa and these are the times for which I love this sport so much, I've never looked back at other eras. Sampras / Agassi don't entertain me much and some of the classics between Borg and McEnroe can outright bore me. I think I can appreciate Becker's or Edberg's tennis a bit more, but that's about it. With so many surges in the past two-three years - Nadal's 2010 season, although he was most glorious in 2008-early 2009 and never fully recovered since, quickly eclipsed by Djokovic's 2011, easily one of the finest in history - it seems the chase for excellence seems to be on fast-forward these days. The two of them can well take us into a new, post-Federer, long period of dominancy. But they've worked very hard for it. There's still no new genius in sight. -------------

It's hard to argue with Rod Laver's calendar slams in three formats - amateur, pro and open era - or with Bjorn Borg's unique 6 RGs and 5 Wimbledon's. I am not sure either Federer or Nadal's achievements match those. You could argue tennis is more competitive now and all that and there's no way to objectively compare different eras of tennis so there's no end to that argument. But these four are probably the ones I would readily think of for the GOAT question. Sampras was ultimately too much of a hard court/grass court specialist for me to place him on par with these players. He couldn't even beat Kafelnikov at RG, for crying out loud. My favourite, though, is Federer without a doubt.

Not sure if you could say he is the best but i always liked Jimmy Conners,he is certainly one of the greats!!
