Awesome djent band from Wicklow, Ireland, UK:
From myspace bio: http://www.myspace.com/shatteredskiesofficial" rel="nofollow - http://www.myspace.com/shatteredskiesofficial (only one sample here though - see below for full streaming links):
"SHATTERED SKIES is a melodic groove metal band from Wicklow, Ireland. The band consists of vocalist Sean Murphy, bassist James Dunne, drummer Ross McMahon and guitarist and keyboardist Ian Rockett. The band's music is an attempt to combine heavy, groove metal riffs with powerful melodies and a lush atmosphere, influenced by anything from film scores to dance/trance music. Shattered Skies are attempting to genuinely offer something unique and interesting to the table. Groove metal with atmosphere, melody and good musicianship and songwriting. First and foremost, we just want to make music that rocks, and is simply enjoyable to listen to."
Influences
Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, SikTh, Cloudkicker, Karnivool, Mudvayne, TesseracT, Periphery, Chicane, Orbital, The Flashbulb, Pain of Salvation, OOMPH!, Dream Theater, System of a Down, Mnemic, Peter Gabriel, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Korn, Pantera, Daft Punk, KMFDM and lots more!

They were previously recommended in this post: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=78641" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=78641 , but it went largely un-noticed, I'm afraid.
Their 6-track EP 'Reanimation' was released 08 May 2011. All music & lyrics written by Ian Rockett, except 'This Is What We Built': music by Ian Rockett & Ross McMahon
Sean Murphy: Vocals James Dunne: Bass Ross McMahon: Drums, Mixing/Production Ian Rockett: Guitars, Keyboards, Backing Vocals
All 6 tracks in order, and a live vid too...
Yam Yam says "Yum Yum!!"...very tasty!

I don't think I can allow you suggest a band "Shattered Skies" at the same time as "Sea of Skies". There's simply no way I can manage that
Besides, didn't we put a stop to any more bands with Sky in the name
Ehm, also http://progfreak.com/Shattered-Skies-151986.html?path=pa/pm" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Shattered-Skies-151986.html?path=pa/pm

Hey, the sky's the limit on progarchives!! We've still got 'A Foreign Sky' to come yet, currently in the Unsigned Bands forum: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=81844" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=81844 , but getting Damo's initial approval. They have an EP on bandcamp: http://aforeignsky.bandcamp.com/album/noblesse" rel="nofollow - http://aforeignsky.bandcamp.com/album/noblesse , but it's only 5 tracks totalling around 20 minutes, so we may need to wait for a bit more from them.
Don't worry, though - this one is tagged as Melodic Post-Hardcore, so would probably end up in someone else's back yard when the time comes!

Shattered Skies' first full-length album 'The World We Used To Know' took a fair while to bring to fruition, and this old thread can now be re-awakened - with the unfinished evaluation of three years ago back on the front burner again it seems...Unfortunately it looks like the pan has boiled over and the oil has caught fire - Shattered Skies could well be about to go down in flames! http://progfreak.com/Shattered-Skies-151986.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Shattered-Skies-151986.html?path=pa/recent .
Edit: 'A Foreign Sky' disappeared off the face of the earth shortly after they posted in the http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=81844" rel="nofollow - Unsigned Bands forum, as did their 'Noblesse' EP on bandcamp...But someone preserved it (for now, at least) on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL42E66965C27B7F1E" rel="nofollow - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL42E66965C27B7F1E .
