Alright, I've been wondering this for a while. In concert, which I have seen live and also on DVD, it seems that Alex Lifeson is singing backup vox. Now for some portions, it could be possible. But in other spots, the background vocals are clearly pre-recorded, or even straight from the studio version of the song.

Why does he do this, and does Alex actually have some background voxs portions?

Geddy Lee triggers it with the Taurus bass pedals which he just uses as a midi controller for most of it.

I do find that annoying about Rush live. It's just too tight. Live bands should feel more live. Still good though

They have been tight live their whole careers.....probably one of thee best live acts of the past 10yrs and will be for the next 5-6yrs. I suspect in the next 5-8yrs they will hang it up...retire.

I can't see them making 2-3 more albums.

Right now I don't see what is in their way of making 3-4 more......I mean they seem to be having a ton of fun.
