Midi files are medium for carrying music data, just like a CD or cassette - so they are not copyright in themselves only their content. Therefore if the content is copyright then the midifile is copyright.
A midi file of Al Di Meola's Golden Dawn would be copyright however badly played.
To be 100% pedantic, they are all unauthorised/unlicensed versions and are thus illegal. ------------- What? |

I am mostly interesting in a midifile with the drums and the bass actually  I really love Jacoīs playing on this song.

The best you can hope for in any Midifile on the internet is some amateur playing the bassline on a keyboard while wearing boxing gloves - you will never find any midifile recording of Jaco's playing. ------------- What? |

I did a websearch and found some of his bassparts as midifiles. Nothing similar to "The Golden Dawn Suite" Did he do other songs with similar bassgrooves?
