This is another one I have to thank Aussie-Byrd-Brother for bringing to my attention. Pondus were a Swedish progressive rock quartet whose sound incorporated elements of jazz fusion. They were active in the late seventies, and their membership consisted of Andreas Vera Oritz on keyboard, flute, and percussion, Cliff Sjursvens on bass, Ole Bäck on guitar, vocals, and percussion, and Thomas Boberg on drums and percussion. They gave us just one album in 1979 called 'Myrornas Frammarsch'.
Side 1 01 - Snöblind (4:09) 02 - Trippellogik (2:23) 03 - The Dawn (6:34) 04 - Kathabraks (4:27) 05 - Kjells PV -58 (1:57)
- Andreas Vera Oritz / Keyboard, flute, percussion - Cliff Sjursvens / Bass - Ole Bäck / guitar, vocals, percussion - Thomas Boberg / Drums, Percussion
Released in Sweden on vinyl, COOP LP 579, 1979.
According to this site someone claiming to have been a friend of Ole Bäck says that Ole wrote all the songs: http://www.popsike.com/Pondus-Myrornas-Frammarsch-RARE-Prog-Fusion-Rock-Sweden/380337748902.html" rel="nofollow - http://www.popsike.com/Pondus-Myrornas-Frammarsch-RARE-Prog-Fusion-Rock-Sweden/380337748902.html .
This information is further backed up by this next link to the Coverband (The Revivals) which Ole was stated in the previous link to have been a part of up until his death: http://fittcp.com/~vinylmonstret/sound_of_music__coverband.html" rel="nofollow - http://fittcp.com/~vinylmonstret/sound_of_music__coverband.html
In the earlier part of his career he played in (and led) another jazz band called Syrgas (1975-1976), but sadly Ole died in 2005, aged just 51: http://www.nyke.se/wp/?page_id=296" rel="nofollow - http://www.nyke.se/wp/?page_id=296
An 18-track CD was dedicated to him called "En ljusare framtid" (A Brighter Future) Recorded in 2006 in Euro Sound Studio, Umeå: http://smdb.kb.se/catalog/id/002069548" rel="nofollow - http://smdb.kb.se/catalog/id/002069548 .
Myrornas Frammarsch (All the songs, & in correct running order):
I think that's a pretty decent little album, considering how little known and rare it is...

Interesting stuff.... I think it could pass for either JR/F or crossover, but I'll see what the Fusion team has to say first.
