When you guys started back in 2004, what was the very first band you guys submitted into the archives? I'm guessing it was either Genesis, Yes or King Crimson. Also, what was the first album by them that you put in?

In the database the band with ID #1 is Genesis

Band ID#2 is Abel Ganz, #3 is Abraxas, #4 Acident ... I'm guessing it all got a bit alphabetic from there because King Crimson is 191 and Pink Floyd is 364 and Rush is 609 so I will stop looking further.

Album ID #1 returns an error 500

Album ID #2 is Foxtrot, #3 is Nursery Cryme (etc)

Just a note about the 2004 thing.  ProgArchives was originally officially launched on September 1st, 2002 (I think i first found this site in 2003).

The above is from the http://wayback.archive.org/web/20020815000000*/progarchives.com" rel="nofollow - web.archive   first snapshot of the site from August 3rd, 2002.

^ Curiously the band ID's from 2002 are the same, which suggests the current database dates from that time. Approve

Strangely enough, I was thinking the other night that it would be a good idea to try to get together various members of the site in worldwide locations at the same time to celebrate our little place.

Interesting, that must have been a deliberate pick to kick things off.

i am kinda happy it was Genesis - i would have hated to think it was an obscure band.

Nice thread, I have always wondered ho wit all began. Genesis is the beginning and that's kind of ironic.

Out of interest what was the most recent entry as far as a band or album goes.....

I am guessing it was in added thread.

Oddly, Album ID #27 is my neighbor's ska band.  Not sure how that happened.

Out of interest how long have you been an SC and how do you use the Admin page to its fullest without knowing this? Team leaders do need to spend more time educating new recruits than they appear to at the moment. Ouch

There are of course some who would say that was a total mistake and it should have been King Crimson. LOL

LOL I don't think they've ever escaped a flamewar - they certainly moved around a bit before finding a home in Crossover. All the early bands like Genesis, Crimson and even Supertramp were added by the site owners, not by its members.

I know that denotes the actual number!

I was asking how do you find a list of album ID's! Big smile
Can a list be downloaded with some numbers next to albums in numerical order. I saw no such reference on admin pages.

OK I rechecked admin section - I can see then if I check the albums that are newly added it is in order of addition

Its not a downloadable list but it gives each chronological Genesis to Kevlar red (the latest addition).

I thought there may have been a list other than that somewhere. Doesn't matter. One should not get shot down for asking.
