Very sad to hear that Jackie Leven has died. Anyone who ever saw Doll By Doll live will be unlikely to forget them. When they closed the show with Palace of Love it was one of the most intense live experiences I've ever witnessed. Remember, their debut album is a classic! His solo stuff, whilst mellower was equally copelling. He'll be greatly missed. Cry

Alas we lose another fine talent. Jackie Leven never got the recognition he deserved. His solo albums were diverse but always enjoyable. He tends to be described as a "Scottish folk singer", but he was so much more than that.

I'd recommend his albums "Forbidden songs of the dying west" and "Defending ancient springs" as good places to start. His song "Leven's lament" is a personal favourite.

RIP Jackie.

RIP

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
