Suck on This for me, can't get enough of it. Sure, the others are more polished, but this one is just so good. And Herb is on fire!

Sailing The Seas of Cheese is probably my favorite Primus album with either Tommy the Cat or Jerry Was A Race Car Driver as their suckiest songs.

I remember the first time I saw Beavis and Butthead doing the Mudd video. I thought hmm, this is kind of interesting and didn't dig any further. Next came Claypool's South Park theme. I was more interested in the cartoon than exploring Primus. I didn't really connect with the band until I heard volume 2 of Les' Live Frogs. That did it and my first acquisition was Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People. Started to explore the band's previous releases and that was all she wrote. I think if I had heard Frizzle Fry when it first came out, I might well have become a fan back then.

Primus sucks! Love 'em. Sailing... is my fave album and I have too many fave songs. When I think of Primus the first two things that come to mind are Mellotrons and Tom Waits. Well, here's Tom Waits playing a Mellotron on a Primus song.
BTW, am I the only one who thinks they deserve more than "prog related" status?

Frizzle Fry, Seas Of Cheese and Tales are my favorites, but Pork Soda is an often overlooked gem - by far the darkest Primus album. Took me awhile to really appreciate that one.

Primus was one of the bands that helped point my way towards King Crimson, as well as giving Peter Gabriel a deeper inspection. Favorite Primus album? Frizzle and Cheese are close. I still need to get myself a copy of Suck on This and Antipop.

There are two Live Frogs volumes; one of them is a live cover of the entire Animals album, the other is various covers of other groups (a bit more Floyd, King Crimson, some of Les' groups, etc). Both are pretty good.

Review in today's Times of Primus's gig at London Brixton Acdemy some time this week. Also mentions release of their first album in 11 years, Green Naugahyde in September and the line-up is Claypole, Larry LaLonde and Jay Lane. Slightly pissed, since this is the first mention I've seen of Primus being over in the UK.

POI
"erriot" - an error done by an idiot or one during an idiotic moment.................................
BTW one reason I much prefer PA, is that if you make an error, then it is likely to get a gentle tease of a correction, as opposed to Prog Ears, where politeness tends to disappear and you can be treated as a total sh*thead for the slightest of slips.

Not so long, there was that EP with the DVD combo - Animals Shouldn't Try To Act Like People. If you haven't heard that one and you really can't wait, I'd recommend it. It was actually my first try at Primus after Frog Brigade.

I didn't think Brain being the better drummer was popular belief. Both are great drummers though, and I've heard the contrasts between Herb and Brain are similar to those between Bruford and White in Yes. I can agree to that.
What is it, 2 weeks roughly till the new album? Can't wait!

Guitarist Larry LaLonde was in the legendary thrash metal band Possessed, to my surprise. I remember the album Seven Churches.
I remember an interview with Possessed's Jeff Becerra round about the time Frizzle Fry came out where he bagged on Ler for joining Primus. Crippling accident or no, dude was a dullard who had nothing to say. Called them "f**king Prime-ass".

I personally like what Larry has contributed to the group. His guitar work helped the band fit into all kinds of diverse concert bills during their crucial first years.
Here is a primus replica band that I just have to share with you guys.
(I hope they find me and pay me for this haha)
Their drummer is Mike Machine (World's Fastest Drummer).

Punchbowl is my favourite too, Frizzle Fry is a very close second and was the first Primus album I got. Brown Album and Green Naugahyde are my least fav.
Primus indeed suck like no other band

Brown Album has some cool tracks (Bob's Party Time Lounge is a killer) but it sounds like it was recorded in the out-house.
Naugahyde has some weird sh*t on it.
Pork Sode is my least fave from them.
Punchbowl is amazing - never tire of this one. Frizzle too.
