No Quarter by a huge stretch, what with the synthesized e-piano and the various guitar effects . A brilliant track !

The Crunge comes to mind.

I voted 'Kashmir' but 'No Quarter' is equally as prog. I'm surprised 'Rain Song' wasn't listed.

Confused What, the James Brown one?

I would say The Rain Song, without a doubt, followed by No Quarter.

Two of these songs are old blues numbers, hardly progressive.

A good selection. And even accompanied by great proggish songs like No Quarter, Stairway to Heaven, The Battle of Evermore, Kashmir and Achilles' Last Stand, my vote goes to the underrated Carouselambra.

I was about to say "inb4 not prog" but I see it has been moved already.

I don't see how one song on the list is proggier than the other. "Kashmir" draws from Middle-eastern themes and compositional structure, "The Battle of Evermore" is a progressive folk tune with allusions to Tolkien, nonstandard instrumentation and Sandy Denny of Fairpost Convention singing duet, "When the Levee Breaks" is about as progressive as the blues form can get, Steve Hackett lifted a whole section of "The Song Remains the Same" for his song "Ace of Wands".

*shrugs*

A group doesn't need the limitations of being labeled a "prog band" to be progressive.

the most progressive Zep was when the four of them walked onto stage and made magic, their albums rarely captured that.. they actually got more progressive with every passing tour

I voted for Achilles Last Stand but on any other day it might have been Carouselambra or The Rain Song. But then again there's No Quarter. *sigh*
