Ah, looking forward to another debate about what's pop where no one agrees with anyone.
Please consider this post as if containing the whole of the Depeche Mode discography (or almost of it).

Mostly all of Amy Winehouse's Back to Black.
Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" and "The Way You Make Me Feel."

Ate a lot of beans and I got some gas. Made a big fart, blew it out my ass.
Blondie's OK with me, but I don't have any of Harry's stuff in my collection.
I guess these would qualify for me:

Who would want to discuss that?

A lot of great songs posted here! Rob and Chris, props for bringing up Tears for Fears, as you guys may have noticed by now I too am a big fan. Barking Weasel, love the Tom Cochrane as well, I'm a big fan of his music
I'll just post a few now, more poppy/less classic rocky
This song is about as catchy and fun as can be.
Good modern brit-pop
Fun song (note: this one is pretty loud)

Ahh The Cocteaus . See here we go 'Common Sense' has nothing to do with this. I don't think CT are pop but there you go. Some round here concider anything that isn't Prog is Pop (Minus Classical and Jazz me thinks). SeventhSojourn says 'Hits only' but does that mean if Lady Gaga doesn't have a hit then it isn't pop? Literally yes .
Anyway....

Just to let you know it wasn't me that said 'Hits only':

Specifically, by pop tunes I actually mean 'hits'.
... and I'm afraid you've lost me with the rest of this post. But I thought the OP was leaving it to other people's discretion to post suitable music examples, and not for the thread to get bogged down in the usual sort of argument. The sample I posted is clearly not suitable so my apologies to all for that and to the OP for derailing the thread.
