My job requires a heavy use of the F3 "find" tool on Firefox.
I'm wondering if there is a way to "rig" it so that it clears automatically when I close it (so I don't have to highlight the contents of the box and delete it every time). This would be very beneficial to me, as I can just hit F3 and a fresh "find" box pops up in each instance. Any idea how to do this?

I'd say use Ctrl+F instead to open the box. Then you can immediately type something new, the old one will be overwritten. I use F3 only for repeating "Find".

It still functions the same as F3 for me.
However, if I use Control-F while the box is up, that at least highlights the search term so it can be deleted or overwritten speedily. Saves me a step! Thanks!
