Weird question! Original is always original, thus better (with exception of Dylan, almost all cover versions were better than his ones).

With this cover, the last particle of my respect for Tool disappeared.

I like both equally I think. It really depends on my mood. Actually, I think it's the only cover I have that feeling about.

I usually either hate the original and like the cover (America) or like the cover and hate the original (All Along the Watchtower).

The version Tool creates is more of what i like, so Tool gets my vote.

Only a mindless tool would select the post-89 option. Get a clue: listen to real music and say "NO!" to new music.

The Zep version is better. Tool is in its best shape when they are doing their own amazing and supernatural songs!

Not a big Tool fan or anything, but this is stupid.

And Hendrix was a guy who was always about looking forward, I don't think he'd share your "all new music sucks" attitude.

is this supposed to be a serious post or just someone trolling? And even if one does not like newer music, name calling is never an option ("mindless tool").

Anyway, Led Zeppelin's No Quarter is one of their best songs, especially the live version on The Song Remains the Same.

That Tool has garnered nearly 33% of the vote thus far is very surprising.

Even Keenan can't match Plant. It's simply the truth.

Tool did quite well but Zeppelin always. All the different versions they did are phenomenal.

Nothing as bad as the sad sack country cover by Hetfield / Cantrell of Don't Fear The Reaper. About as mystical as Caspar the Friendly Ghost only less fun.

Led Zeppelin all the way. The dramatic build-up is much better, and the Tool vocals are absolutely crappy.

There's a recent Gov't Mule video on You Tube. They do SIBLY and NQ with Jason Bonham guesting and they do a very good job. This is more like it.
