They seem pretty proggy and experimental to me. What do you think?

Sorry, while I probably agree with you (it's been a while since I listened to them), it's never going to happen. The surviving members of the prog electronic team are adamantly opposed to any IDM in the archives because it's too "commercial". This has come up http://www.progarchives.com/forum/search_results_topics.asp?SearchID=20110113180649&KW=boards+canada" rel="nofollow - before , as well as with Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares. Personally, I don't understand how the subgenre of prog electronic on PA makes any sense, but that's a discussion for another time.

Nope it's a discussion for right now (again).
Prog electronic, when called that and purported to be progressive as far as electronic goes, has not made any sense since it was instituted on this site.
The genre should be broken up into:
1. Berlin school 2. All others moves to Krautrock (the likes of Kraftwerk)
Brian Eno should be removed and all reviews of his albums deleted (mine included). His only possibly contribution to "Prog Electronic" is in ambient and tape music, and the exclusion of post-70s ambient and tape music artists makes his inclusion nonsensical.
This site should claim no expertise at all on electronic music when it so retardedly ignores innovation in the genre.
(I actually think All prog electronic artists should not be here, and the entire Krautrock genre as well should be removed--the definition of prog music is too wide as it is and it allows for issues like this to arise).

Basically, I agree with what stonie said. Although I wouldn't be willing to axe all of Kraut, it seems to me that artists like Amon Duul II fit under prog. The motorik music of Can/Faust/Neu! etc. drives me crazy so I can't legitimately comment on it.

Thanks for explaining that to me. I haven't really listened to much of Venetian Snares but I think BOC is less IDM than Aphex Twin. In fact I can't really think of a single BOC track that sounds "commercial" or "danceable." They're really an ambient band. But they're also experimental. In fact, their last release featured guitars and sounded pretty close to post-rock to me. I understand the need for them to filter bands from the list but I think this one really deserves a place.

I love BOC, but if Aphex Twin and Autechre have no chance of getting in, neither do they.

You're correct, except for this (IMO of course.):

All krautrock artists should be moved to the psychedelic/space rock category.

Did you put them against the category definition and the category's most representative artists, to see if your suggestion is worthy? That's always a good thing to know if you're not sure.
Anyway, like it's been said, the issue has been discussed to death, this scene is not eligible for PA's prog electronic.

Faust isn't "motorik" at all, it's closer to the RIO sound than Krautrock

That may have been stonie's implication.

I'm not claiming deep familiarity with Faust. That is what I have heard from people and a similarity I heard in my limited listens to them, and I really don't care enough to listen further to tease out the difference between motorik and minimalist RIO Krautrock.
