Topic: Your last meal?Posted By: Finnforest
Subject: Your last meal?

You've been captured by the other side unfortunately, and are scheduled
to be put out the airlock in the morning. Being civilized of course,
your captors will grant you one final grand meal. This ain't prison
food, but anything your heart desires.
The above silly set-up notwithstanding, the question is real, so do tell.
If you had but one meal left to enjoy, what food and extras would you enjoy?
I'll go with this menu:
Broiled Shrimp with homemade tartar sauce A good, messy cheeseburger Chocolate milkshake - Ice cold beer with warm soft pretzel Two Camel cigarettes, one filtered and one unfiltered Dinner music: Banco's "Darwin" and then some Buddy Guy with the drinks.
Then, black of space, here I come.

A really big, really good Monte Cristo sandwich. You just can't a good one in these health conscious days in which we live. Also, a pint of really good beer. Maybe Rogue Shakespeare Stout.

I imagine it'd be some sort of BBQ platter or I might just go to Texas de Brazil since I can basically eat as many different meats as I want till I keel over, with a plentyful salad bar

I have to think about this one, but something that would make me so full I'd wish for death would be good. Ended with a wafer thing mint of course.

I love food in general so much that my last meal could change like the wind.
I'll start with:
A mint julep made with fresh mint and Maker's Mark bourbon
Then:
A pitcher of Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat draft beer Ribeye steak with the fat caramelized, topped with caramelized onions, mushrooms and Montreal spicy steak seasoning Mashed russet potatoes with butter Corn on the cob (also with butter)
For dessert, a glass of tawny port and a piece of baklava (garnished with extra cloves)
And since smoking is included, how about an Excalibur Emperor:

Meh, I hate fancy food. I'd just want to enjoy one more bowl of Ramen or two.
Oh yeah, with a Mountain Dew Code Red and, oh, I dunno, maybe some Jaco in the background.

And of course, as the internet, I remember the source of Finn's gif. If your pathetic brain hasn't absorbed it yet, or even worse, if it has but then forgotten it, here you go, meatbag.
I would probably just have my mom's macaroni and chees and meatloaf, with some ice cream afterwards. I have simple tastes.

If I was about to die I would like to hear Einstien on The Beach. Both to extend my life, and because the piece is f'ing amazing.

I'm referring more to the piece of cake as a last meal.
I drink tea, not coffee, but I can at least respect that.

I don't think i have the vocabulary to write what I want as my last meal in English
but I will trye
as a 4 course meal I would have loved
1. salmon or traout with almond potato, butter souce, green beans (also on butter) and white wine
2. Elk/moose or Willow Goose steak (or both), with potato, carrots, brocolie, coleflower, brown souce (meat stock based) and Lingon berry gell (or crane berry gell) and fried Canterelle mushsroom souce and hungarian red wine
3. garlic and chilli roasted scampi shrimps with curry souce and rice
4. caramel pouding with some nice liquere and a Leffe beer
all cooked by Gordon Ramsey

the ming. There's a huge variety of stuff I like so I'm currently

Red beans and rice, smoked pork sausage, Louisiana hot sauce and hot cornbread or biscuits if they know how to make'em flaky. Ice water or unsweetened ice tea.
Posted By: Slartibartfast

Probably nothing, is there just any way you can speed this up and get it over with?
However the caretaker's suggestion sounds good. Andouille baby . I'd like a hot Earl Grey green tea with that instead of iced tea. Man I don't like that stuff. Spiced Indian Darjeehling would work, too.

Beef pot roast with carrots and potatoes.
Then something like 6 Jaegerbombs and since we're including smoking, you might guess what I'd choose.

A multi-course Indian feast!
Yum -- food to die for!
Second place would be West Indian. Mmmmm -- jerk!
I made mulligitawny last night (a tres tasty curry chicken soup), and tonight it's to be tandoori chicken and Spanish potatoes. I like spice!

Hey Peter!
I had Indian tonight.....a fish with homemade cheese in a creamy sauce with cashews and raisins....that might sound awful but it was quite good.
I've found the Indian restaurants around here are pretty good with fish (salmon), but they overcook the chicken and shrimp, the chicken is always dry and tough, the shrimp rubbery.
Yet aside from their handling of those two items, the rest of their food is pretty awesome. I just stick with fish or go vegetarian there.

Finnster, what I really like in a good Indian restaurant is a buffet: a little of this, a little of that -- a little of EVERYTHING!
My wife & I were in a good Indian eatery in Toronto a while back. When we asked for one of the dishes to be hot (spicy), the sari-clad waitress asked "Canadian hot, or Indian hot?" We said "Let's try Indian hot." Man, that WAS haaaawt! The accompaning cold beer was most welcome -- and needed!
And yeah, Egalitarian, fresh-baked naan to stog it all down with and wipe the plate clean afterwards is awesome.
My wife cooks great indian food, as well -- she can whip up a five-courser, replete with raita, in no time flat! My teenaged daughter, meanwhile, made some fine chana the other day -- jerk flavour!
My "from scratch" vindaloo though, with the spices toasted and individually blended (no curry powder, but the individual ingredients, plus more) is amazing, if I may be so immodest -- if you can wait for it.

Oh yes, Balance ol' boy -- we're all happy when that one is served up! Often my wife will make another Indian dish or two to accompany it. And the rice is always basmati, naturally. So much more fragrant and tasty than everyday white rice! We buy it by the sack.

Turmuric (a key spice in curry) has strong anti-carcinogenic properties, they now say. I have often found that spicy food will kill a cold -- a real shot in the arm for the immune system.
I hear that spicing up meat like that originated in hot countries as a way of preserving meat, masking the taste/odor of meat which was going "off," etc. (So much healthier that our western salting and pickling.) In the West indies, lime juice is used to wash raw chicken pre-cooking -- the citric acid is not only a tenderizer (and tasty), but also a natural disinfectant, killing salmonella and other nasties -- and thus the lime slice in the neck of your Mexico City-made Corona.

^^ I like Basmati too, it's the only rice I make now, its longer split grain cooks-up much better than normal 'long grain' rice which these days in California is more like the crunchy pearl variety
for me; Southern fried chicken with coleslaw, beans, biscuits&honey, and plenty of hot sauce
