Even if they're there they have nothing in common to any prog artists.

their last albums have obvious progressive tendencies.

They have inspired the first wave of prog metal bands : Fates Warning, Queensr˙che, Dream Theater

My mistake, my father showed me what it was like when they were a bit more progressive. (supposed to be their first albums.

I don't follow you.

"progressive" is a meaningless distinction, anyway

the Dianno albums have indeed some proginess in them. Dickinson era had still some prog elements here and there, but completely abandoned the prog side when Adrian Harris left the band (albums 'no prayer for the dying' and 'fear of the dark' are melodic heavy metal), Blaze Baley era is not prog either. Then Adrian Harris and bruce Dickinson came back and brought back the prog elements in Maiden's music.

Even if they didn't influenced a million progressive bands, the Bruce-era albums are surely proto-progressive metal (Poweslave, Somewhere in Time & Seventh Son), though my favorite by them is Number of the Beast.

I know you kinda recanted your original post...but why do they have to have anything in common with an artist?

Prog is not about being a "prog band"....its about the music and how it uses certain attributes outlined as progressive.
Many of their recent albums carry a lot of progressive attributes I think....As well as earlier albums like Powerslave.

I'm pretty sure this meets all criteria for a prog-metal song.

Don't know about that...their last couple of albums are pretty much Prog Metal albums.

Anyone who believes that Iron Maiden isnt Prog-Related knows nothing about them or Prog.

This thread is just dumb. The OP is silly and contradicts the title of the thread.

To save the OP further embarrassment I will close this and move it to Just For Fun.
