Peace be with you my prog brethrens. I am merely a young lad of 22 who was exposed to all that prog had to offer 2 years ago. I was given many classic albums from the big guns (King Crimson, Yes, Genesis) and fell for the genre fully. I already had some of the better known Pink Floyd albums but developed a more eclectic taste, particularly for the more bizarre prog! I've listened to alot since then including ELP, Van Der Graaf Generator, The Residents, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, Camel, Frank Zappa, Mike Oldfield (I actually listened to Amarok all in one go...hark at me!). My favourites would have to be King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Van Der Graaf Generator to name three. I also enjoy other forms of music ranging from Mr Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Bruce Springsteen, ELO, Queen, Issac Hayes, The Beatles, The Kinks, Van Morrison....the list goes on and on.

I have enjoyed looking through this archive and have picked up some rare gems as a result. I'm proud to be among like-minded proggians and would welcome any and all suggestions on albums.

Speaking of which how could I forget Soft Machine? I don't think I'd be comfortable listening to 'Third' with the lights off!

You're new name shall be gramps, then.

Incidentally, where's Pablo? Isn't he the youngest regular poster on PA?

UndercoverBoy (aka Josh) is younger, Pablo's already 16 while he's only 15.

Might as well send a hearing aid and a cane to Argentina, since Pablo is well on his way to retirement.

Yup.  I remember the good ol' days when I was a youngster...though I can't say they were all that good, I had barely scratched the surface of good music at that point.

As a prog fan you must feel like you're in your 50's already though. What with all the people commenting on you "dad music"!

Most people prefer to comment on the fact that they don't even think a lot of what I listen to is music. LOL

Yeah, that's more of a problem, although when it's called noise it gets harder to argue...

Yeah, but I don't really listen to noise, barring the occasional self-torture of playing some Merzbow. LOL

I'm actually shocked at the amount of young prog fans on here since I joined! I feel older now LOL
