I was expecting a before and after shot, but I wasn't expecting her to have kept it. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you that you're hanging on to your severed fingertip? Where does she store it without it decaying? How long is she intending to keep it? Will it be set in formaldehyde and passed down as an heirloom? Sell it on eBay?

I think maybe she's planning on dropping it into a Wendy's chili cup and filing a lawsuit.

That picture has got to be fake, you cannot smash/sever a finger surely and then take a pic like it looks brand new with no bruising, swelling, etc.

The part that was severed is dead, so I doubt any swelling or bruising would even be possible.

I don't think CNN would report something this extraordinary without triple-checking their sources.

I mean I know that your nipple can grow back but, well damn I'm totally slicing off my fingertips now!

No. Televised news runs stories all the time without checking sources, but not when it's something this potentially unbelievable. The reporters in the video even said they thought it was fake at first.

And if they do that would become their ONLY story for about a week....

^ Oh, yeah. I hate that about 24-hour news stations. Remember the Natalie Holloway story? Nothing else in the world was more important to television than that girl's disappearance for some time. Made me sick.

Yeah, if I ever kidnap and murder someone, it's definitely not going to be a blonde white girl, everybody is all over that. You kidnap a Hispanic and probably nobody will even notice unless you go really overboard with it and, like, drain all the blood from her body and leave it at a hotel.

It wouldn't bruise or swell, the door took it right off. I am wondering about the decomposition, though.

I thought that it was going to something like she grew back her ENTIRE finger. I would have thought that there would be some deformity in the new growth though.

You frighten me, Henry But your sig made me laugh and then remember I have work to do, so I can forgive you.
So like... Is it possible for anyone to do this? Or is this lady part starfish or something? And on a semi-related note, how weird would a starfish-lady be? Might go draw that instead of doing schoolwork...

To be honest that's not much finger she lost. The fingernail is what makes it look impressive but it grows from an area that wasn't affected. The money is how much bone was hit and how well it grew back.
I read that the other day and expected something a little more impressive. Especially considering how much trouble she went through to save that ?8mm of pinky length.
------------- You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

The fact that a severed body part, no matter how small it was, regenerated itself fairly accurately is what I find impressive. Small scale or not, this is a leap forward.

A very outdated meme, but I still chuckle now and then at it.
