I have just listened to Mr Zappa defend his point on music, and I agree lots. Why must the government not like good music.

Yup, his intervention on that show was simply electrifying. One of the sharpest minds to compose music and speak about music.

I've seen that clip before. Great how Zappa keeps his head pretty cool with such a big and terrifying cockroach next to him. Clap

Ah, Bob Novak.  Always sounded like he was talking with a throat full of mucus.

Yeah, thats some of the greatest Zappa footage of all time.  I used to find myself watching that video a lot just for his humor and wit.  He constantly crushes everybody's arguments around him, then the minute he starts speaking they won't let him talk.  But then again, maybe they shouldn't since they know he's going to verbally rape them on multiple levels

That's a terrible rip, this one is much better. I can't say I agree with him about obscenity on the radio or the hyperbolic "fascist theocracy", but it is bizarre to see that people were seriously considering the idea of completely banning the sale of certain albums, at least, that's what it seems like Washington Times guy is saying. Although I can't say I really care about Parental Advisory labels.

What is really funny is these guys seem to have an obsession with incest and are telling Zappa he "needs to get out more".   Hmmm.

What's funny is that by 1986 Zappa had done a lot of songs with lyrics they'd find objectionable, but not one of them had done the research to even cite any of Frank's lyrics.  Basically what Frank said was going on politically with religion at the time was totally correct and it has most certainly continued to go on if not accelerate.

I like a guy who stands to his ideas! I would like to have more Zappa's Mind on this world.
