Guru Guru and Birth Control were playing under the moniker Legends Of Krautrock this evening.
I could take some photos from Mani Neumeier before the show started

on this one he's preparing for the Elektrolurch I assume  Big smile

GURU GURU's set corresponded to their current live album - a really solid and diversified performance. They played an interesting blend of styles including straightforward rock n' roll, jazz rock, world/ethno and songs based on a clear psych/space fundament like the impressing Spacebaby and finally the wellknown encore Elektrolurch with Mani Neumeier wearing his eerie mask ... huuuuhuuuu!

Mani Neumeier / drums, percussions, vocals
Roland Schaeffer / guitar, sax, vocals, Nadaswaram
Peter Kühmstedt / bass
Hans Reffert / guitar, lapsteel guitar, vocals

Then the audience saw a highly motivated BIRTH CONTROL with guitarist Peter Engelhard quasi as the shining star and Nossi playing the drums as powerful as during the former decades.

Spiked with snippets from other band songs including impressing solos by every member the mandatory extended Gamma Ray jam version was the evening highlight for sure ...

Did they do Just Before the Sun Will Rise? Probably one of my most favorite songs ever.

Not sure - I don't think so - what I know is they played 'The work is done' - unfortunately there was no prepared setlist available ...

I like The Work is Done too. Did any song feature the lyric "I am free, I am me"?

Guru's shows are always an interesting one. Neiumeier is over 7 and could still teacj a few tricks to young upcoming drummers

But I always preferred the first line-up with Trepte (RIPCry)and Geinrich

Birth Control is a solid trad hard rock show and they resemble Jane i and to a lesser extent Epitath that regard

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I prefer BC over Jane, but maybe that's just me.

You are a very very very lucky man. I`d eat my underwear to see Guru Guru. Mani has been one of my heroes since I started listening to all this crazy music back in the early `70s. The only album I haven`t got is the latest live album.

I saw them five times so far, and they were always excellent. Mani is a great entertainer. And of course they are all great musicians.

You are very lucky too. At least I got to see Grobschnitt. The only rock concert I saw in Deutschland.
