Any chance of a definition of what constitutes a 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team'?

I am an Admin whose duties involve site adminsitration and forum moderating.
I am also a member of the Crossover Prog Team involved in assessing an evaluating bands to be admitted to the Crossover Prog subgenre - a subgenre that is part of the old Art Rock definition concerned with the Prog bands that crossed-over into the Mainstream (or vice versa).
When doing neither of those tasks I partake in general forum debates on Prog and Non prog issues and make random postings in the Just For Fun sections of the forum.

I think you have to understand the "slash" between the two different ranks, Big Ears.

OK, so who moderates the quality of the writing from the moderators? By quality I mean, grammar and sentence structure; which leads to economical, concise and clear writing. None of us are perfect, but if we moderate others, we should be able to express ourselves clearly.

Is that what you think the Admins do here or are supposed to do? Correct people's grammar?

Okay - I'm really sorry you have an issue with my sentence structures - I know it is a problem for me and has been for over 40 years- you are roughly my age so you will understand when I tell you I got grade-9 on my GCE "O" level English, not proud of that, but sod all I can do about it now. I'm one of the few people who can précis a book and end up with a longer missive than the original text. I have never been able to master the art of concise explanations. The more complex the subject I'm trying to get over, the more complex my grammar becomes, and the longer the sentences will run for. I apologise for that. I admire people who can say things in simple terms - it's a skill I don't posses, never have and never will.

I could say what I think of all this in very simple terms, but I shan't.

Frankly, I think you should moderate your criticism.

Same as my father told me: "I admire every person who can play a musical instrument.",
I'll say: "I admire those who can use this language and has big word dictionary in their minds. And the longer text is, the better. Well, best would be to structure your thoughts into two different paragraphs, short explanation and long one :-D."

You did not read my post before sniping, as I asked a reasonable question and did not make a criticism.

Not at all. But, if a moderator responds negatively to a posting, they should make themselves clear. They should not dress-up an attack in woolly language, otherwise it is done for its own sake. Another way of describing this would be as sniping.

It is nice to know you are not making any criticisms, since I am the only person here who bears the title, 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team', and posts in long unstructured sentences it could be misconstrued as a snipe at me without that added clarification. Also, being as I am the only person here who bears the title, 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team', and who posts in long unstructured sentences, it would be nice, if not polite, for you to at least acknowledge my posts in this thread that you have created specifically to question persons who bear the title, 'Site Admin & Moderator / Crossover Team', who post in long unstructured sentences.
Anyway, thank you for the non-criticism of my posting style, I will endeavour to post in a terser more concise manner, but I fear it will take some time.

I am truely sorry you saw my post in the Classical thread in that way - it was in no way intended as a snipe or an attack on you, just a continuation of the discussions regarding influence. All I can do is appologise.

Besides, there's a difference between moderating and participating in a debate just like any other member. You [BE] seem to have implied that Dean responded to you (negatively) intentionally putting his admin hat on and exercising his moderator powers.
All admin notes are usually specified as admin notes, otherwise you're just facing a member of the forum, who's replying to what you said, within a debate. Questioning, from this angle, his moderator rank or duties makes no sense.

I apologise to Dean for being impolite and accept that he did not intend a snipe or attack. I also take Ricochet's point about the roles.

IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH AN ADMINS OR ANYONE ON THIS SITE JUST HIT THE FLAG ICON AND IT WILL BE DEALT WITH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
WE DO NOT START THREADS ABOUT INDIVIDUALS ON THE OPEN FORUM.
P.S. Dean is about the most helpful person you can find here.

Wow, I feel kind of stupid posting in that other sniping thread before noticing this.
Dean has to be one of the most thoughtful, helpful, wise, considerate, ethical, balanced and philosophical posters here. I'm surprised to see that he was even thought to be sniping, He's also very open to communication so such a misunderstanding could have been cleared up quite quickly had you PMed him. I still say that commonly if you find a problem with someone, PM them and ask them, as it may be a misunderstanding. -- not in all cases of course, but with a respected and secure member of the establishment here, it's the least you could do. It's a much more considerate way to approach someone.
Making hasty conclusions is not thoughtful, nor is attacking someone... Words and intentions can be interpreted in different ways. If one must make assumptions, assume the best until proven otherwise ... principle of charity and all that.
Dean likes to discuss and explore ideas, as well as share facts, and he's not one that I see attacking people, but he's open enough to share his opinions/ perceptions, and he has the authority (both moral and vested) to enforce the rules when needed.

On a serious note, if you have a problem with a member of the Admin
Team would you kindly express your grievances via Pm to another member
of the team.
Thanks

Two stories. Long time ago, many years ago, I was glad playing sniper in CS. But now, not anymore.
But once ago, I was also young and was on one forum about certain online game. I was posting a lot and he hated me for my easy-going behavior. So he waited, was gathering evidence of my minor crimes. Waiting for time when he will have enough material to contact admins and to ban me. It happened, evidence showed to them was for period of 1.5 years and with hundreds of posts, one do a lot of mistakes, off topic posts and so on. he destroyed me. :- /

Ever heard of Travian ? Well, three years ago, I played this stuff (other word starting with s..t), it was page of our guild. They also accused me of being spy for enemy.
Here, I'm hell trying to behave well. Not that someone would be watching me, but for the good feeling.
