Amazon.com is having a promotion in which you get $1.29 to towards the purchase of a mp3. Most mp3s are under that price, so you will be able to download one without paying anything.

Personally I downloaded a Frank Zappa song.

I hope this is an appropriate place for this thread. Confused If not, it can be moved to the right spot, not that I have any say in it. LOL

What are they thinking who they are? MP3 "shippings" only available in the US? Ridiculous.

That is a real stinker, they should make MP3 downloads available everywhere, not like it's any harder to "deliver" them to other countries.

I guess it costs too much for overnight shipping, other than that I have no idea why it is only available in the US.

Edit:

Even so, international buyers should be able to use the promotion, if their purchase doesn't go over the $1.29.

My guess is that there are copyright issues involved in the distribution of MP3's outside the US for amazon.com.  They probably only have a license to distribute them in the US.  But I can't say for sure that's the reason.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Too much music out there that I want. All the good stuff seems to be $1.99 or is not available as an mp3.
