I've been lately picking up again the Coldplay albums my brother has, and figured out that what used to be my favorite, X & Y, started to be my least favorite.

Now it's either Parachutes or Rush of Blood... Or could simply "compile" them, and listen to Coldplay Live 2003, with excellent renditions from their best songs from those 2 albumsTongue

Haven't heard their latest though...

So? Is there any love for them here?

I do like them, but I haven't heard a full album. The singles off their newest album are probably my least favorites though.

Justin Timberlake listens to them to warm up before his shows, apparently . . .

. . . that's enough reason for me to stay as far away as possible.

''Clocks'' was kind of cool, I guess, if you like that sort of thing . . .

Parachutes, but wasn't there just this exact thread a couple of weeks ago?

Also, Justin Timberlake is not that bad. He's talented and a good performer, even if his talents are a bit misdirected.

Coldplay are a pop band, nothing wrong with that if you fancy listening to something pleasant but undemanding, their last album was very good but i still have a soft spot for X&Y despite its trillion sales mass appeal - i bought the vinyl album, not  the CD from Tescos or downloaded MP3 so i can still retain some credibility ...Wink

how's it go....

Clap Some people here sometimes surprise me with their comments about pop bands.(not reffering to you)

And, no, I had no idea there was a exact poll just few weeks ago, sorry for thatOuch

X & Y can not be tied for the lead with A Rush Of Blood To The Head being dead last with no votes! Never trust proggers with pop-pop/rock. Wink

AROBTTH is the only one I like...and one I used to listen to alot back in the day. Almost every song is good. Their debut had a few interesting tunes but is ultimately meh. X&Y was just awful. Thus I stopped caring about them. LOL

^Wrong! Every track on parachutes is great, but A Rush... is also great. I agree about X & Y to an extent. When I skim through it, it sounds great, but on the whole it's too long and not quite as inspired. I wasn't initially too interested in hearing new Coldplay from then on, but the stuff I started hearing/reading about the new album was intriguing enough and Viva la Vida turned out to be pretty good.

I wasn't so thrilled with Parachutes (though admittedly its been forever since I've listen to it). Just checking now, only two tracks survived on my itunes. Tongue It was alright...not bad for a debut, and they really came through with their followup.

I think someone had their newest playing in the car whilst I was driving with them so I probably heard about half to three-quarters of it. It wasn't bad, but I didn't hear anything that made me want to spend money on it.

Speaking for myself...not really.
Although, strangely enough, I did participate in and do some location stills for a video that came in second in their Fan video contest.

Check out my web site, I played one of the French guards.

Viva la Vida and Death to all his Friends followed by X&Y

Tough choice, cos I own (and like) all of them. I went for Viva la Vida, although X&Y comes a close second. Followed by Rush..., with Parachutes being my least favourite, simply because it doesn't seem to have the epic stadium-sized confidence of the other three.

Franky, a band I dislike. Yet, the singles from the last album make me reconsider their case. I will never be a fan, but I think their new songs sound more interesting and better made than the small amount of songs I knew from them.

Really love X & Y but the other 3 all have some great moments.

I doubt they will be able to top their debut one day ...

Hi,
I have heard about the coldplay, but never hear full song. I just know that Coldplayis an alternative rock band from London. The members are Chris Martin on lead vocals and piano, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion.

Justin Timberlake is an excellent pop singer (albeit his albums aren't great but when he gets it right, he gets it right).

Anyway, Rush of Blood is their best record clearly for me and X&Y their worst by miles.

A terrible band, but A Rush Of Blood To The Head is clearly their best album.
