Subject: How could i identify a tune?
Date Posted: July 15 2009 at 16:18
Hello.
I have a rather weird question: I came across a tune, an instrumental piece which sound prog-like, but can't find any details about the title and/or artist.
Is there any way i could upload the mp3 and have some of you guys help me?
I tried some internet sites but they are mostly focused on other music styles...
Thanks in advance.

Well, i thought there was some way to do it in here, hadn't think of a service like rapidshare. So, i uploaded it, here's the link:
pay attention to the chord/mood change and the synth solo at 2:17. That's what got my attention at the first place. (Unfortunately, it's rudly interrupted near the end...)
Thanks again

Or you can upload just a piece of the song, not the entire song, or something...

Hmm, an MP3 appearing mysteriously out of nowhere?
If I were you I wouldn't touch it if you don't know where it's been.
The music was prog like, the music was prog like. Man I wish I had a pair of bongos...

It isn't exactly out of nowhere.
It was used as a back-up melody on a user's video, but when i asked they didn't give me any info...
So i downloaded the video, converted it to mp3, and here i am...

There seems to be a problem... It worked for me before, as a streaming file, but now it only allows me to download it... I also have this link
http://www.filefreak.com/public/viewset/6853 -
but neither this streams now, only allows to download...

Brcuse the stream link is a link in this link.
BTW..This link here can be downloaded by right clicking and saving, so you had better delete it from your post.

Thanks Ian. I'm not sure about the legalities of streaming, but I guess the industry is probably less concerned about it than sharing.

So, it might be persistence or stubbornness (or perhaps despair?!), but i came around the whole problem...
I made a slideshow video with the tune playing in the background, and uploaded it to youtube!
If any of you want to hear the song, just watch the video (don't tell me this is forbidden too!):

Hope this works, and hope someone may have a clue about the tune...
