Hi,

Like all of you, I also feel sad when a lot of the well known and special musicians leave us and take their place in the eternal band in the sky ...

I don't think I met many folks that shed a tear for Michael Karoli, other than his immediate family, like I did, or Richard Wright ... probably 2 of the best experimentalists out there, that never really got the credit they deserve .... even if Richard's band sometimes made light and may have been asking for something simpler ... you take the music away from the lyrics and just listen to the keyboards and there are an astounding mix of sounds in there that are just as beautiful as they are scary ... and allow your imagination to make its own theme and story ... and you can see some of the sonic structures and sounds in the Division Bell album even though few say that it is a good Pink Floyd album ... if it isn't, at least one person dedicated some really loving time putting it together ... and you can not ask for more!

At times, even in a board like this one, it is far too easy to show the proper appreciation for any artist, and all too often we tend to refer to the artists in the past ... and not recognize the artists of today ... some of which, like many of these before us, fought really hard battles to get their music across and feed their very own families.

In no way do I think that one person is worthy of the talent and another is not. I might prefer one to the other but think everyone has the right to play and show us all ... but if there is one thing that this board can do, it is to help credit the many folks that deserve more attention than they are getting ...

There is a lot of music out there ... never waste it ... for you would be wasting your very own spirit!
