I remember seeing a video on Youtube a long time ago. It was a performance of some European, maybe Spanish, prog rock band. It had a very 80's synth heavy sound, almost to the point of being cheesy. I remember the drummer playing Simmons drums and the keyboardist controlling a wall of various synths, playing with knobs constantly and really making the song trippy. Does anyone know the name of the band?

Sorry can't help. I remember seeing a spanish or Mexican prog band on tv(on the spanish channel) back in the early 90's who were singing in Spanish. The only thing I remember is that the lead singer was bald. They had a nice synth in their sound. Definitely in the neo prog school I would guess.

Here's a way to use the site's resources. Each band's country is part of their listing. I just went to Symphonic Prog, and found several listed as being from Spain. It will take some time, but you could look through the listings, and watch any videos that may be available or MP3s from Spanish bands. Apparently we don't have a function where we can look up bands by country. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong there. At the very least, you'd get to know Spanish bands really well!

I have no idea. Sounds symphonic or neo, but there are a ton of European (or Spanish) prog bands.
Most prog bands use synths, many are European, Simmons drums are common, and many keyboard players also use knobs frequently.
Sorry, but this is WAAAY too broad for me to pinpoint a particular band.
There are almost 4,500 artists on PA, and there's a chance what you're looking for might not even be on this site.
Do you happen to know any of the musician's names?

I believe the band was "El Gnomo de Mecanografía".

Good point. It was instrumental, but I don't know remember much about the performance. Hopefully something will jar my memory eventually.

In order to see the bands from one country, you need to type the country's name in the site search form. This is what you get when you search for "Spain":
../Bands-country.asp?country=207 - Progressive Rock & Related Bands/artists from SPAIN

A like these mysteries. But unfortunately, to this case I have nothing to add. But I will keep my fingers crossed. /\
