Is anyone familiar with the new MySpace Music that was recently launched?  Apparently, thousands of songs from the major labels are going to be available for free.  Are these only going to be available for playing on your MySpace page, or can these be downloaded to your computer and MP3 players?  It is one of those things that seems way too good to be true.  What is the catch?  What am I missing?

I don't know, but I sincerely doubt it would be free downloads.  Free streams seems more likely.

I was looking at the site further, and it does just seem to be free streams.  It looks like they allow 10 songs on your playlist instead of just 1, but since I already have a player that plays up to a 100 songs that is kind of a step down.  Although, I suppose that songs would be from more legal sources.  If you want to purchase the MP3s you have to purchase them from Amazon from a link on MySpace.  I guess that the question than becomes is portability and ease of finding music worth the price of paying for something that you can listen to at any time on your computer for free.

Yeah they're free streams. Last FM just did the same thing. There are tons of free albums but you can only listen to them three times.
