As the days are slowly getting colder, and the stress of school already taking it's toll on me, I cant help but think about how incredible this summer was for me. I started driving just before school let out, I got an excellent paying job, therefore fewer hours, but good money, and after swim seaon let out, no cerfew, and no time to wake up. I felt like a free man for that last month there, and I did what I want without a care in the world. From now on when I look back on this huge summer, the sound of Followed by ghosts Dear Monsters, be patient will immediately come to mind. I was completely hooked on it for almost the entire time, and everytime I listen to it, I will be reminded of how awesome my 2008 summer was.

Cheers to followed by ghosts!

What album made your summer this year?

I'll always remember this summer because I became a member here.  Such an incredible site, found so many good bands and albums...  I assume we're sticking with prog albums released this summer, because since my arrival, it has all been pretty new to me...  Love you guys.  Hug

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

What a surprise. Tongue

They were my biggest musical discovery this summer and I have memories attached to that album (and that band as well) with other outlets as well, so this was an easy choice for me.

I am only a recent arrival here on Progarchives, so this is my first summer on the forum.  Whilst I have found lots of new bands already, I will always remember this summer as the one when I discovered The Flower Kings.  My album of the summer is Stardust We Are, a wonderful album.

Can't believe I'd missed out on these for so long, however I now have the delight of gradually obtaining the rest of their albums, which I think I'm going to enjoy very much.

^ I just realized that I'm listening almost exclusively to old stuffEmbarrassed  I'll have to check out some things from Assaf's list (I recommend others to do the same...guy knows his stuff).  The three new ones I've liked are Bacio della Medusa (best of the year IMO, maybe 5 stars), Birds and Buildings (thanks Assaf and HT), and Beardfish.  From this thread, Thieves Kitchen sounds interesting from the reviews, and I'll have to try out the new Opeth at some point (good autumn music?).
