Has anyone out here in PA land heard of the band Cornershop? I have only heard their album When I Was Born for the 7th Time which was released in 1997. It had a couple of songs that made the radio so I suppose that negates any progressiveness but while listening to this album for the first time in quite awhile I was quite impressed and thought that I would mention them to all of my buddies here on PA.
Here is a link to their homepage which includes a few songs that can be downloaded, a couple of videos that can be watched, and a link to their MySpace page.

They are an Indie band from Great Britain, and their music is a fusion of Indian music, British indie rock, and electronic dance. I expect that they might appeal to some of you, but probably not to many of you. Anyhow, on ...Born for the 7th Time, they end with a really cool cover of the Beatles Norwegian Wood. They also have a couple of fairly "progressive"? instrumental tracks such as It's Indian Tobacco My Friend and State Troopers Part 1.
Here's the YouTube video for their best known song Brimful of Asha which is kind of mildly representative of the rest of the album's sound.

And here is the video for We're in Yr. Corner which is maybe a little bit more representative.

Anyhow, let me know what you think about this band. I really don't think I have anything else within my collection that sounds anything like this. Does anybody have any recommendations for any of their other albums?
