I'm listing both these albums at once because they are available as a two-fer on BGO Records, and this is by far the only release you should consider purchasing in order to own these two masterpieces.&nbs

I HAVE to get "Interview!" My prog-fiend buddy used to own a copy, but I never have. I LOVE the title track!

I have a CD with both albums on it...bought it in a store...and Free Hand really is one of my favorite GG albums.

And I think there are some funny things on Interview...just listen to 'design' (I think it was design) and listen to the answer to

I love Gentle Giant too, in fact GG and ELP are the most sophisticated bands ever.

I've heard 3 friends, acquiring the taste, but none has reached the level of Free Hand and Octopus. I agree with Corbet about Free Hand, but let me tell you that

Yes, Knots is IMO the best GG Song and THE ONE I would recommend people who are new to GG...

Must've been very cool to actually see them live back in the day, precedes even me by a few years, I'm gonna pick up Interview off of the recommendations in this thread, I've never even heard it!

I think Free Hand is probably their most 'accessable' album, therefore a good starter for a newbie. In A Glass House is the most challenging.

I totally agree on that "Free Hand is a good starter for a newbie": the melodic lines and counterpoints are catchy and captivating, yet they show the usual level of cleverness and complexity

IMHO, Interview has always been the least "understood" GG album.  For one thing, it is their third concept album (along with Three Friends and The Power and The Glory).  Secondly, it has the best opening track of any of their albums (and one o
