This is my first thread over progarchives... let's hope it could be of some interest  for you guys LOL

The topic is the new show of The Musical Box (TMB): A Trick of the Tail. TMB is going to perform something really different  which represent a new challenge for them. Here it is the statement reported on the website of the organization:

"A Trick Of The Tail represented the dawning of a new era for Genesis, as it now does for The Musical Box.
Fans will argue forever over the merits of these very different musical periods, but there's no denying the enduring quality of "A Trick Of The Tail" - a true landmark!"

I am sure that this event will be as great as the PG era's shows performed by TMB. Only one complain on my side... the price of the ticket is still too high Cry

I thoroughly recommend this, I've seen them twice and was impressed both times.
It was being "dragged" by my parents to The Musical Box's "Lamb" show because my uncle couldn't go which got me into Prog music.
I've seen their "Selling England" show since then and will be going to this show. :)

I would love to see The Musical Box.
Because I doubt a Peter agbriel reunion will happen so I atleast want to see the next best thing.

I saw the Lamb Lies Down by them and was blown away. I'm too young to have ever seen Peter and Steven rejoin the band but from what I've heard it's spot on. I'll be seeing them in Cleveland for cheap 2 $10 tickets + service charge + parking so it comes out to $40 but it'll be worth it.

that's good that you corrected that because is a serious progrock site. No joking here.

I thought they were disbanding. i remember reading an interview with the singer somewhere. I think I gave that album one of my rare 5 star Genesis reviews. gotta check it. meanwhile, there's no joking around on this website. it's not permitted.

I was going to see them but then I made other plans for the same night which would have easily been better than seeing TMB. Unfortunately those plans got broken at a time which made it impossible for me to catch then show and I ended up extremely bored that night Cry.

I will go, if only to see the dude dressed as Bruford wearing suspenders.

Oops, no joking around, I forgot...

_popupControl(); I'm seeing em tonight in Milwaukee. Pretty excited, bought the tix only 4 hrs after they went on sale, were almost all sold out by then. I'll write a review later tonight after the show or tomorrow.

Does this mean that a decade from now we can expect TMB to perform 'Songs From Invisible Touch'?

*shivers*

ziggystardust360, i agree a Gabriel reunion would be great, but unfortunately, highly unlikely...

Caught the Sunday Nokia/NYC show last night. I felt like I was in a constant state of being torn. You have to hand it to these guys for getting everything down pat, but in some ways I wonder if being so focused somehow takes away from the sheer excitement factor. Sat in the front row, which wasn't the sonically desirable place to be. The vocals seemed very low in the mix. The audience was relatively small...mostly die-hard Genesis fans....but they were enjoying it. The drummer that did Bruford's parts was very good, but obviously not Bill Bruford good. Over all...a good show which I enjoyed, but was not blown away by. The guitarist did Hackett's parts quite well. The Rutherford guy nailed it as well as the keyboard player. The gent taking on Phil's tasks was good...as well as his stunt-double drummer. A fun stroll down memory lane...if one keeps one's keeps one's expectations in tact.

I'm sure the UK fans will know this already, but The Musical Box will be performing A Trick of the Tail at the Fairfield Hall, Croydon on Thursday 12th November - the only English date on the tour, I believe.
