Sounds like it was a great gig overall though I've read a few complaints about the sound, but then others say it was okay. Hopefully this will be the impertus needed to get the ball rolling for a proper Tour.

Nice choice of songs, mainly what you might expect but For Your Life being a welcome surprise. Here's the set list.......

'Good Times Bad Times'
'Ramble On'
'Black Dog'
'In My Time Of Dying'
'For Your Life'
'Trampled Under Foot'
'Nobody's Fault But Mine'
'No Quarter'
'Since I've Been Loving You'
'Dazed And Confused'
'Stairway To Heaven'
'The Song Remains The Same'
'Misty Mountain Hop'
'Kashmir'
---------------------------------------
'Whole Lotta Love'
'Rock And Roll'

Was anyone lucky enough to be there?

Sadly I didn't get to see it but yes, that set-list is just jawdropping! I've watched 'Good Times Bad Times', 'Black Dog', 'Stairway To Heaven', 'Kashmir' and 'Whole Lotta Love' via YouTube, alongside various poor quality snippets of 'In My Time Of Dying', 'Since I've Been Loving You' and 'The Song Remains The Same' and even from that they sounded superb. I only pray someone gets 'No Quarter' up on there....

Reviews were generally overwhelmingly positive, but there were a few that came from that up-its-own-backside punk-era posturing from music journalists that one thought had died out by now. Apparently not, as these reviews would confirm:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7137852.stm - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7137852.stm  (and the description of Led Zeppelin as 'Queen without a sense of humour' in this review might be about the most stunningly stupid comment I've heard from a music journalist...)

But anyway, a selection of terrific reviews available here:

From what I read so far it must have been an amazing show. The sound may have been a bit on the rough side, but what do you expect? It's the HAMMER OF THE GODS! I just wish I could have been there, since the only time I saw them live back in 1980 they were just awful! Last night though must have been magic - despite what some critics say as quoted by James up there.
Others loved them:
"But their classics proved music doesn't rock like it used to." (The Sun).
"
It's been a long time since they rock and rolled... and as singer Robert Plant, 59, guitarist Jimmy Page, 63, and bass player John Paul Jones, 61, launched into the first few numbers of Good Times, Bad Times and Whole Lotta Love last night, we suddenly realised just how much we had missed them." (The Daily Mirror).
"Their heaviosity has always been the cornerstone of their reputation but it was astonishing to see how funky they could be for a rock band." (The Times).
"
They were fantastic. Better than I expected. It was a joy and a privilege to be there." (The Telegraph)

thanks to Salmacis for posting those reviews, the comments/blogs made for a good read...of course the Zep-bashers have come back out of their dark miserable caves, but it's good to see the enlightened ones chasing them back.

Clips have been taking down on YouTube (save a precious few) but on this site you can download all the goodies on your computer

Kashmir absolutely SLAYED.

Apparently boots are already doing their rounds, as well, but those filesharing sites are a bit busy as you can imagine!

I sat up all night experiencing this gig and its aftermath on the internet and I'm not exactly a hardcore fan, lol. It was rock history in the making, though, and it made me all giddy just being part of this event the best I could.

So looking forward to the DVD.........

I normally have my alarm clock set on buzzer but for some reason last night/this morning I had it set on radio.  The morning DJs on Detroit's classic rock station WCSX, JJ and Lynne were doing their show live from London.  I didn't realize that the concert was last night but I woke up to the two DJs gushing like two little school girls about what an excellent concert they had seen the night before.  JJ said that he saw Zeppelin half a dozen times during the 70s but that the show last night was much better than from when he saw them in the 70s.    I definitely hope that this does lead to a re-union tour.  The best that I can say that I have seen is when I saw Robert Plant opening for the Who a couple of years ago.  It would be really cool to see them play live.
