I just found this notice:
Hughie Thomasson(55) from Tampa Florida was a guitarist and singer, famous for his work with southern band The Outlaws(founding member) and formerly Lynyrd Skynyrd. He wrote most of the songs for The Outlaws including There goes another love song, and Green Grass and High Tides.
He died in his sleep of an apparent heart attack at his Brooksville home late Sunday
He joined Skynyrd in 1996 but Im not sure exactly when he departed that band. Thomasson had recently produced  The Outlaws latest cd Once an Outlaw. The band had recently toured  The USA with The Charlie Daniels Band and The Marshall Tucker Band and also had played a Festival in Amsterdam with Aerosmith,Scorpions and Tesla.
He was a good man He did a free show in Tampa for a charity for mentally handicapped children,He just wanted to be a part of something to help someone else
.
