Two games into the preseason, how do your teams look?

The Chiefs are going to have a LONG season. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they keep talking rebuilding year, but Edwards was supposed to come in and form a juggernaut of a defense, but so far they haven't played to their potential (I was at the Rush show on Thursday during their game with New Orleans; but, from what I've heard it wasn't pretty at all).

After several years of having the NFL's top rated offense under Vermeil, it looks as though KC fans will have to get used to a grind it out, ball controlled, smash mouth offense. Not all bad...if we had the players to execute. Our once dominant offensive line has been dismantled with the retirements of Willie Roaf and Will Shields, and we still don't have that deep threat or a receiver who will strike fear into the secondary.

We have a decent running back squad; however, how good will it be if we have an O line who can't create holes? Furthermore, we have a former defensive player in as fullback. What in the world is Edwards doing?

And then there's the quarterbacks--the central nervous system of the offense. Green floundered in Solari's new offensive scheme, so we trade him and leave it up to journeyman Damon Huard (who did step in nicely when the Bengals scrambled Trent Green's brains last year), and second year green horn Brodie Croyle (Have you guys seen his wife on the HBO special Hard Knocks? Man alive, if he could play half as well as he can pick out a gorgeous wife, we'd be champions for the next 5 Super Bowls). The play calling has favored Croyle because they really want this kid to shine; however, it looks like he doesn't even want it. The kid has a strong arm and all the tools that makes a good QB, but his decision making skills on the field are about as good as Vick's decisions off the field.

Anyway, I'm simply looking forward to both college and pro football starting. It should be interesting. The only thing I'll be looking forward to is a top 5 pick in next year's draft.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan I'm just glad they don't compete in the AFC!  Yipes!  We're just hoping Romo develops into a quality QB in time but that might take a few seasons.  In the meantime I'm counting on the defense to keep us in games so we'll have a chance to win them in the 4th quarter.  If we can take the NFC East then we'll be in the playoffs and, as you know, anything can happen then.  We also hope the Browns tank again so we'll have a top five pick in next year's draft.  Thanks, Cleveland!

Being a Raiders fans the last 4 years have been anything but fun however I am cautiously optimistic from what I have seen in the preseason.  The offensive line is the key to this whole offense and so far have done pretty well.  The QB's have done adequetly understanding as all of them are learning a new system while two are from other teams. The big surprise of the three has been Daunte Culpepper.  He seems very versatile, confident and savvy.  He also does not seem to have any lingering affect of his injuries.  This could be the key to a decent season.  There have been some turnover problems coming from bad snaps that better be worked out by day one. The Raiders schedule is not kind even though they had the worst record in football as they are playing both Super Bowl teams and of course the ultra Competitive AFC west.

The defense looks as strong as its NFL 3rd best rating from last year.  The D-line is fast and it gets great pressure it seems almost every play.  The line backers are quick and the DB's cover exceptionally well.  The key here is to keep them off the field something last years team could't do. If the offense can average 20-23 points a game and posses the ball for 30-33 minutes a game then this team will be in every game this year.  I know that is a lot to say but I really feel something different coming out of Oakland this year.  I don't think the players were as bad as the record indicated but the coaches were.  Who knows when first round pick Jamarcus Russell will sign but I don't think they expected him to play this year anyway.
So I am looking forward to this season.

I don't have a team- I never have- weird because I always follow the league.

Any suggestions? Smile

From my limited NFL knowledge, I think the Browns will be the seasons suprise, as they have done a lot to imrpove their offensive line. Although they do play in an impossible division so I doubt they'll make the playoffs.

Giants all the way!
Eli is always the number 1 question. I expect Eli to step up and have a pretty good year. The problem is not him though, it's the whole team.
Branon Jacobs will also have a pretty good year IMO. He's no Tiki Barber though.
I think the Giants will go 8-8, I hope.   Although that CAN get them into the playoffs.

Cripes, another year as a Cheesehead!

Brett Favre should do all right as long as he can find someone to throw to. Hopefull Donald Driver isn't hurt too bad after the ankle injury against the Ravens. But the Packers cut Ingle Martin so the only depth behind Favre comes from fumble-meister Aaron Rogers and a very suspect Paul Thompson, who only managed to start one year in college and only then because the Sooners' starting quarterback was kicked off the team. Thompson had four turnovers in his final game (a loss in the Fiesta Bowl). I'm glad actually since Boise State won what was easily the most exciting finish ever in a college football game, but this spells certain doom for the Pack if Favre gets injured.

The defense was solid last year and returns pretty much everyone so they should be at least as good in 2007, but on offense there is neither talent nor depth at running back so it looks like once again the Packers only go as far as Favre's arm will carry them.

This seems like a good time for my favorite Favre photo to make an appearance...

Patriots have a nice chance to make it #4 - but anything can and will happen, I'll enjoy the ride this year (as long as Moss doesn't turn into our version of T.O.)

Hmmm wonder about the Chargers.

The Steelers and Colts both dominated but failed in the playoffs before they won the big game....
Although the Patriots are gunna be scary. If they play lined up with Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth, not to mention Tom Brady..... it looks bad for the other teams.

Has anybody been watching HBO's Hard Knocks featuring the Kansas City Chiefs? I propose we give Brody Croyle's wife more air time. Man alive, that girl is hotter than doughnut grease.

Last preseason weekend before NFL '07 is underway. Come one boys, let's light this candle!!!

The Ravens are worrying me a bit.Flashes of brilliance mixed with inconsistent play, especially offensively.

The defense is looking pretty good,as always. But losing Adalius Thomas to the Pats was a big loss.Offensively is where I am worried.McNair is great, but besides Mason our receivers are pretty young and need a few more years under their belt. The O-line needs to play a little better too,McGahee is not running like I thought he would, but it is going to take some time for things to gel for the running game.I don't really miss Jamal Lewis,he is a great RB but his last few years were pretty inconsistent.

I went to Giants Training Camp, and everybody looked good.  Except Eli, of courseDead.

I gotta be honest, I like the backup QB, Jared "Hefty Lefty" Lorenzen, better.  Then again, I guess it helps that he's built like a linebacker and I got his autograph and a picture with him.

Heh...first time I saw him I thought he was a lineman. Actually I like him myself, and I SWEAR his mobility is better than Eli. Sad considering Eli's what, 220? And Lorenzen is 285 LOL
And I think Brandon Jacobs will have a good year. He's not Tiki but I think he will be more than just a 3 yard, sheer power back.
And if Strahan dosnt come back make him a defensive end. LOLLOL

Keep in mind that last year Oakland was 4-0 in the preseason, and they stunk worse than canal water during the season. Preseason isn't a very good gauge.

True, I've been pretty busy also.

And yea, preseason really dosn't mean a thing. Although the Giants still will be mediocre at best. F*cking Tiki Barber....I KNEW he retired because of Tom Coughlin....I mean if it wasnt for Coughlin Tiki's career would not have gone the way it did.

True enough but you can gauge certain things in Pre season.  For instance Oakland won all of those games last year in the 4th quarter.  When their 1's were left the field they were behind in every one of those games. This year Oaklands 1's did pretty well except against Seattle.  I think they will be much more competitive this year.

Ah, hope springs eternal at the beginning of a new NFL season. Everybody starts at 0-0 and it has proven before, no matter how good or bad your team was a year ago, doesn't mean they will suffer/thrive through a similiar year this year.

For the first time since the Gruden days, I am stoked for the Raiders to make that comeback. The defense has gained a fine edge and if we can wipe away our embarrassing offensive performance from last year, I totally believe we can rise back into respectabilty. It all is going to stem on our offensive line's progress this year, which I believe they will pass the test and we may even  be able to surprise some opponants. Who knows, if we can grab a few early victories , nothing can hone a team into a fine working machine than success. Wins breeds confidence and confidence breeds success.

Watch out Denver , Kansas City and San Diego....the Raiders are back to bully the neighborhood boys once again!!, Muh Ha HA!!

A share (if not the majority) of that thanks should go to the late Lamar Hunt for bringing the two together. The respect that man had throughout the league and sports in general can only be claimed by a handful of people. So, don't kid yourself because Greasy Al didn't do it alone.

The outpouring when Mr. Hunt passed away was amazing...we'll see if it's the same for Al.

While I don't think pre-season is a totally accurate way to gauge how your team will play in the regular season,I do think it is a good way to evaluate teams. It is a great way to see how your second team plays, and with injuries playing a key part in an NFL season, your second team players can suddenly become very important.

I was surprised to see the Colts blow out the Saints last night,I wasn't expecting the Colts to be as strong offensively this year. They last some key players at the end of last season, particularly on their offensive line.

Oh, BTW...I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Don't get me wrong. My #1 team will ALWAYS be the Raiders. But the Packers are my #2. I love the Pack as well, and I am hoping they make a big splash by continuing their momentum with their promising end to last season.. They won their final 4 games convincingly and the defense has shrugged off that embarrassing mediocre performance they had the year before last.

I think they could sneak into the playoffs this year. My only worry is their revamped running core of unproven hopefuls. What a great way for Favre to leave if it happens. I admire the heck out of that guy. He's a great athlete as well as a class act.He epitomizes everything that is right about pro football. I'll be sad to see him go, but time takes its toll on everyone and it is clear his playing days are numbered.

So the Colts are undefeated this year!!

I want to say the Chargers will win the Super Bowl, following recent history they should.
But those Patriots and pretty boy Tom Brady, I don't know..
And for my personal team....I am just hoping the Giants won't be LAST in the nl east

Let me just say that the Lions are going to win 10 games this year, and then go on to win the Super Bowl.

I also think that Invisible Touch is Genesis' best album, Open Your Eyes is Yes' best album, and Love Beach is ELP's best album.

To be fair to Lamar Hunt and Al Davis Mr Hunt did a lot of negations for the merger after the NFL was willing to talk.  Mr Davis strategy as commissioner of the AFL forced the bidding war that brought top college talent and NFL players to the AFL that forced the NFL to start talking.
Of course both of their franchises were cornerstones in the AFL's growth in the mid to late 60's and played some of the most spectacular games against each other I have ever seen.  They were like two college rivals going at it.  It took the Bronco's 17 years to get where these guys were. Both teams have had ups and downs but still one of the greatest rivalries in Sports.

E-dub you need to see the new offense the Raiders are showing this year.  I have seen all 4 preseason games and this offense is nothing like last year.  I am not saying it will be outstanding but the Raiders will score more this year.  I am looking for 7-8 wins. With the Defense they have if the offense can score 20+ points a game and hold the ball even time throught the game they will be in every game they play.

<< Oh, BTW...I was born and raised in Wisconsin.

===================================================================

liked the Packers until I moved to Wisconsin back in 1996. And lucky for me, that was the season they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. If they were obnoxious before, then they were off the Smug-o-meter's screen after that.

In-laws have a way to really rub it in; however, they do tend to shut up after I remind them that the Chiefs have beaten them 10 or 11 straight times. That last game up in Lambeau when Green hit Kennison for that 40 yard touchdown pass in overtime was su-weet!!!

Eh, never was torqued. I've just never gotten the whole, "I bet you're jealous because our team has done this and that and yours haven't." I'll be the first one to criticize them for not evaluating talent and making boneheaded moves on and off the field. I've got too many years invested in them to back out now, however. Just wished they would've won a Super Bowl before my dad and Mr. Hunt passed on, though.

BTW, did you know Lamar is the one who thought of the term 'Super Bowl'. Now, I think I have to pay the NFL half a million for even using that term in every day conversation though.

Your predictions for the AFC West may not be too far off. I still think the Chiefs and Raiders will fight it out for last place; however, I honestly believe the Raiders will be ahead of the Chiefs in next year's draft, however. If I felt the Chiefs were worse off than the Raiders, I would admit it; but, the Raiders just have too many personnel issues.

He wouldn't have played this year anyway so what is the big deal?  Leinart didn't sign until after the season started last year with Phoenix.  This happens a lot. The sticking point is Johnson asking for more money than Oakland has to give guaranteed up front money under the present salary cap. He is asking for 10 million more up front than last years 1.  Even still they are trying to free up some more money and get Johnson to accept some incentive clauses.

Once again, the Colts have a cream puff schedule, especially the 2nd half of the season. Angry  Biggest test for them will be Pats and Chargers back to back.  I'd be surprised if the Colts do worse than 13-3.

Well, I'm just happy to root for the Pats as they will be in the hunt again.  Look for either them, the Colts, or the Chargers to beat whatever the NFC throws their way (probably the Saints).

Any fan of an AFC team around my age or older can't help but smile a little at the AFC dominance of late, after so many years in the 80s and 90s where the NFC was the dominant conference.

The problem with "powder puff" schedules is that sometimes by mid-season some of those previously pitiful teams are on a roll and the tough-looking teams are wallowing in injuries or finger-pointing.  That's what makes parity a trip.  How great is it that there's a full schedule of games tomorrow?  Yes!  And thank the Lord that Theisman is off of Monday Night Football finally.  Now I can watch the games with the sound on!

Happy with the Cowboys' win but also very glad that time ran out or both teams would still be scoring TDs at will.  Dallas has drafted nothing but defense for the last 5 years and I'm wondering where they are.  Not surprised about Houston.  They've got a great attitude down there and they will surprise a lot of teams this year.

Raiders same old same old.  Anyone need a used up kicker?  Janakoski missed 3 field goals in the first half! Angry
Raiders go down by 17 then go ahead 21-20 only to fall behind 26-21 then turn the ball over twice inside the 30 and Lions win.  I have had enough.  Hey E-Dub at least your kicker made a field goal.  BTW is that Justin Medlock?  He was automatic the last two years at UCLA.

Sure is...and we've already released him. He was very inconsistent in the preseason, so one wonders what happened between college and the pros. Listening to the radio today and they said that he's been cut, but his locker hasn't been cleaned out.

GREAT NEWS:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7262 - Kevin Everett might walk again after all.

The doctor who performed the spinal surgery on Everett told Buffalo TV station WIVB on Tuesday that Everett has voluntary movement of his arms and legs and as a result he is optimistic that Everett will walk again.

Dr. Andrew Cappuccino told WIVB that Everett's sedation levels were lowered on Tuesday, allowing him to respond to verbal commands. WIVB also reported that Everett's latest MRI shows only a small amount of swelling on his spinal cord.

Dr. Barth Green, chairman of the department of neurological surgery at the University of Miami school of medicine, agrees with the prognosis.

"Based on our experience, the fact that he's moving so well, so early after such a catastrophic injury means he will walk again," Green said.

"It's totally spectacular, totally unexpected," Green said.

Green said he's been consulting with doctors in Buffalo since Everett sustained a life-threatening spinal cord injury Sunday after ducking his head while tackling the http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=den - Denver Broncos ' http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7879 - Domenik Hixon during the second-half kickoff of the Bills' season opener.

A trainer attends to Kevin Everett after he showed no signs of consciousness following a helmet-to-helmet hit on Denver's Domenik Hixon at the start of the second half.

Everett dropped face-first to the ground after his helmet hit Hixon high on the left shoulder and side of the helmet.

Asked whether Everett will have a chance to fully recover, Green said: "It's feasible, but it's not 100 percent predictable at this time. ... But it's feasible he could lead a normal life."

On Monday, Cappuccino said that Everett sustained a "catastrophic" and life-threatening spinal-cord injury and was unlikely to walk again.

"A best-case scenario is full recovery, but not likely," Cappuccino said Monday. "I believe there will be some permanent neurologic deficit."

Bills owner Ralph Wilson said the team has been in contact from the beginning with Green and the Miami Project, the university's neurological center that specializes in spinal cord injuries and paralysis.

Everett's agent, Brian Overstreet, also said Everett's mother, Patricia Dugas, told him the player moved his arms and legs when awakened from a deeply sedated sleep.

"I don't know if I would call it a miracle. I would call it a spectacular example of what people can do," Green said. "To me, it's like putting the first man on the moon or splitting the atom. We've shown that if the right treatment is given to people who have a catastrophic injury that they could walk away from it."

Green said the key was the quick action taken by Cappuccino to run an ice-cold saline solution through Everett's system that put the player in a hypothermic state. Doctors at the Miami Project have demonstrated in their laboratories that such action significantly decreases the damage to the spinal cord due to swelling and movement.

"We've been doing a protocol on humans and having similar experiences for many months now," Green said. "But this is the first time I'm aware of that the doctor was with the patient when he was injured and the hypothermia was started within minutes of the injury. We know the earlier it's started, the better."

Everett remains in intensive care and will be slowly taken off sedation and have his body temperature warmed over the next day, Green said. Doctors will also take the player off a respirator.

On Monday, Cappuccino noted the 25-year-old reserve tight end did have touch sensation throughout his body and also showed signs of movement. But he cautioned that Everett's injury was life-threatening because he was still susceptible to blood clots, infection and breathing failure.

Cappuccino repaired a break between the third and fourth vertebrae and also alleviated the pressure on the spinal cord. In reconstructing his spine, doctors made a bone graft and inserted a plate, held in by four screws, and also inserted two small rods, held in place by another four screws.

Doctors, however, weren't able to repair all the damage.

Bills punter http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5697 - Brian Moorman immediately feared the worst when Everett showed no signs of movement as he was placed on a backboard and, with his head and body immobilized, carefully loaded into an ambulance.

"It brought tears to my eyes," Moorman said after practice. He said the sight of Everett's motionless body brought back memories of Mike Utley, the former http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=det - Detroit Lions guard, who was paralyzed below the chest after injuring his neck in a collision during a 1991 game.

Utley, Moorman recalled, at least was able to give what's become a famous "thumbs up" sign as he was taken off the field. Everett didn't.

"That's what I was waiting for, and that's what everybody else was waiting for," Moorman said. "And to have to walk back to the sideline and not see that made for a tough time."

Utley, who lives in Washington state, was saddened to see replays of Everett's collision.

"I'm sorry this young man got hurt," Utley said. "It wasn't a cheap shot. It was a great form tackle and that's it."

Cappuccino received permission to operate from Everett's mother, who spoke by phone from her home in Houston. She and other family members arrived in Buffalo on Monday. Everett was born in Port Arthur, Texas, and played high school football there.

Buffalo's 2005 third-round draft pick out of Miami, Everett missed his rookie season because of a knee injury. He spent most of last year playing special teams. He was hoping to make an impact as a receiver.

Green noted that Everett and Wilson have ties to Miami and the Miami Project -- Everett played there and Wilson is one of the project's largest donors.

"It's an amazing group of circumstances. It's a home run. It's a touchdown," Green said.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

My thoughts are with Everett and I pray that he continues to recover from his injury.

Can anyone else believe that New England, with all the talent they have on that team, would stoop to cheating so blatantly?  I read a book a few months ago about the coach and his incredible work ethic and it's hard to imagine that he would condone such a stunt.  I think they should lose at least their top five picks in the next draft as punishment, if not more.  Disgraceful.

Makes me wonder, do the helmets really protect the players in a head-to-head collision? They weight a ton and reduce flexibility of the neck. Would the injury have been so bad if he did not wear a helmet? If rugby players scrummed with those helmets, the scrum would be 10x more dangerous than it already is, I really don't think those helmets are helpful.

-------------

Not really Kid A. The Helmet is there to protect against blows to the top of the head and face.  The problem is the way he hit.  Run full force for 30-40 yards then lower your head and hit a wall with the top of your head.  It compresses all the vertibrae and nerves in your neck. That is why they get injured.  Haven't seen too many Rugby players ever go that fast after a hit.

^and it doesn't do it does it? I think the reduced flexibility makes an injury more likely on head-to head collisions. I don't see why American footballers would need a helmet and not rugby players. When there are head-to-head collisions with rugby players very rarely do such serious injuries as happen to American footballers. I seem to recall a few years ago a kick returner or someone got a paralysing injury from a head-to-head collision as well? I think the helmet's partly to blame.

Have you ever seen a scrum in rugby btw?

Yes I have from the sidelines(used to have a friend who played in beer leagues) but you didn't get what I was saying. What I am saying it isn't just the blow or how hard that is it is also the fact it is happening that the players are running at at full speed almost every time this happens.  If you are standing in scrum you are pushing but not running so the force of the blow is less if you did go head to head.  Most of these type of injuries in American football happen on return teams as well because that is when everyone is flying around at full speed. How much more damage would a truck do running into a wall (to itself as well) at 5 mph vs 60 mph?  Same principle.

^Were the players on Sunday running at full speed?

Also I may be wrong as there is a new helmet design, but the old helmet design definitely did lead to a lot of concussion hence the need for a new one. But still surely a player yanking someones helmet can lead to serious injury as well.

It was on a kickoff return and he was injured when he lowered his head into the ball carrier.  The ball carrier was certainly running full speed.
I don't buy the helmet thing though.  Players are huge and fast now way more so than in the 60's and 70's. The full force of a 250 pound linebacker into a 210 running back at the point of attack causes a lot of concussions.  Or worse yet the same linebacker on a blitz untouched to a QB's blindside and you can see the QB's head snap forward and backward hence a concussion.  Maybe a helmet doesn't stop that but it certainly keeps the mans face intact when he hits the ground.

The Chiefs inept offense goes against the powerhouse defense of the Bears today. The only chance of a Chiefs victory can be summarized in two words: Rex Grossman.

Soooooo what about the Patriots and Bellichek?
Ok, I'll admit the cheating probably wouldn't have impacted their 3 Super Bowls and all that....but it makes you think.

All I know is, Eli is starting this week! I am stoked.
And so far....Eli has been playing pretty well.

Personally, I think it's pretty weenie. A team as talented as the Patriots shouldn't feel the need to cheat like they did. I think it's really tacky to do it against a team who has a coach that he harbors so much dislike for. The guy acts like such a jerk to Mangini after their games.

Well I said the Raiders would at least be respectable losers. Lost again in OT against the very hated Broncos. I cannot stand Shanahan. First he sabotages the Raiders when he is their head coach. Then he goes into Denver and beats them regularily.
Today took the cake...we kick a 52 yard winning fieldgoal( a damned hard fieldgoal to make BTW) and that b*****d supposedly calls a timeout a fraction of a second before the ball is snapped. So we miss the second try and they go on to win the game. I so badly wanted to wipe away the smug look of satisfaction off his face. I hate that prick.
what a chump.Angry

Glad the Ravens won today, they looked a lot better than last week.

Pennington might be out of a job though, because Kellen Clemens didn't play too bad considering it was his first NFL start, against a killer defense on their home turf.

I got a little worried towards the end of the game because the Jets were starting to rally.

Cowboys 2-0 for the first time in a long, long spell.  They get a real test next week against the Bears, though.  Romo looks like the real deal but T.O. continues to be an embarassment with his showboating.  Just play the game and grow up, dude!

First, last night pleased me immensely.  Big%20smile

As a Patriots fan, I'll post something from ESPN's Bill Simmons, an unabashed Pats fan, who summed up my feelings better than I could.  It'll be my only post on the subject.

"everyone's talking about the other teams and implying they were the victims. What about Pats fans? How did we deserve this? Our favorite team cheated, we lost a No. 1 pick, our coach pulled the football version of the Watergate break-in, our entire mini-dynasty has been tainted according to the outside world. ... Seriously, what did we ever do other than support a perpetually crappy franchise with a bad stadium for years and years and years? Do you think we wanted any of this to happen? All week, I almost felt like I did something wrong just because I rooted for these guys. Well, no more. Call them cheaters, call them villains, call them the evil empire, but it's still my team. You can't disown your team just because it does something sleazy, just like you can't disown a close family member for doing something sleazy. Your team is your team. I hate what happened, I think it has been terribly overblown, we paid the price, and we're moving on."

Don't look now but the Lions are 2 - 0.  8 more wins until Jon Kitna replaces Nostradamus as the holder of the most off-the-wall prediction to come true.

I thought Jon Kitna would have a big year personally.
I don't see anything spectacular about him....but he can throw the ball, has experience, and has an ungodly set of wide recievers.

As Al Davis's motto is..."just win baby"...as far as I'm concerned, cheating is part of the game. If you won some games because of it, all the better for you. The only thing they did wrong was get caught.

More rules have been implemented because of Raider infractions(stickum, wrapping your arms with casts and using them as clubs, spearheading, forward fumble, etc,etc...if it gives you an edge, then do it. . Personally I felt the penalty they paid was too harsh.

What needs to change is this "emperor of Football" that we have as our commisioner right now. He is out of control with his heavy hammer of justice. Ray Lewis can get by scott free when he got involved with the murder of someone, but Micheal Vick is going to get hung for killing(which is sick and very uncool, and I am not condoning this) some dogs. I think the NFL's priorities are a bit out of whack.

His last 2 or 3 minutes were pretty weak though.  Although one of the passes was dropped (Probably 'cause the Jets aren't used to a QB with any arm strengthLOL), there were about 3 or 4 times where he threw passes that would have been touchdowns had they been placed about three inches better.  Overall a great fourth-quarter for Clemens (the first three were pretty mediocre), but I would certainly not go so far as to say that this kid is gonna permanently replace Chad once Penning recovers.

The Raiders play Cleveland this week. A week ago I would have said they stand a good chance to win this game. Now, after Cleveland won 51-45...I'm not so confident anymore. I REALLY don't want to go 0-3.Unhappy

It is going to be an a very rocky year for the Raiders.  0-3 would suck but what I would like to see is improvement week to week resulting in a great second half. There was tremendous improvement from week one defensively, running game too just offensively and kicking game lost that game.  I don't think this team has enough to reach the playoffs but an 8-8 record with a good second half would go a long way leading to next year.
