Subject: The Stupid Question Thread

I welcome you all to ask a stupid questions about prog here. All you veteran proggers, go ahead and ask a n00b question. One you've been dying to know the answer to, but are too embarrassed to ask lest you be ridiculed. Throw down your love for your social status, and ask away! (Feel free to ask intelligent questions, as well.)

Mine isn't painfully stupid, unfortunately, but I will ask nonetheless.

Why is 1998 in brackets beside Porcupine Tree's Metanoia, when it was recorded during the Signify sessions, in '96ish?

He's said before that he most usually chooses words that match the song, and fit well with the music...rarely does he actually write something with value once it is detached from the music.

Warr is a brand that makes touch guitars.  They are based upon the same idea as a Chapman Stick; the strings are tapped to the fretboard, rather than plucked or strummed, so that both hands can be used on the fretboard.  However, Warr Guitars have a body in addition to a fretboard (which gives a "fatter" tone), and can be plucked in addition to tapped.

I'm sorry, but the only Genesis band member that can be dissed on this site is Phil. And it was unanimously voted by a slim majority that those threads were to be nuked upon emergence.
You may be confusing Hackett with Hacksaw Steve. It seems he never learned that using a hacksaw to play the guitar does not make for as good theatrics as Jimmy Page using a bow, or Randy Bachman using a drumstick. That and his strings bill & guitar repair costs were cutting into what little profit he was able to make on the road ....Big%20smile

I may be wrong, but here's how I think you read it:

There are more than one buttons?!
=There are not just one buttons, but more?!

This is obviously wrong, but here's how I meant it:

There are more than one buttons?!

=The number of which it is true to say that there are that many buttons, is more than one?!

I did a little it of research and I can only conclude that though the sessions were in 1996 they were originally
released in 1998 as an LP double 10' fan release.

The remastered CD likely therefor refers to it's original release date as opposed to the time of recording.
