The question, I'm sure, has been asked before. But now i'm doing it with EVERY POSSIBLE GENRE (including Prog).

So, if you were sent to a deserted island and you could choose the complete discography or the complete work of an artist as your only musical companion till the end of days, what, whose works would you pick?

Any genre: classical, rock, rap, pop, hardrock, progressive, metal, death metal, grindcore, reggaetton, whatever. And any composer of musician or band.

I would take all of Johann Sebastian Bach' works. That would take like a hundred or more cds just to have every known piece, that without taking multiple versions because that would require like 1000+ cds and the boat could sink.... I would choose the versions I like the most of every piece, and all set.

In rock, of course, if no classical was allowed, I would have to take 8 albums by a New York band. Big%20smile

Zappa.  He's fantastic, plus there's so damn much of it!

I'd take King Crimson's discography in that case. Consistent quality-wise and varied enough to remain interesting.

Real tough. I think with anything i'd get sick of it eventually, but i think i'd have to go with John Zorn. He's got so many releases with so much diversity and creativity that i'm sure he'd help for a while. Either that or John Cage i think.
