just saw on T.V. that Doogie Hauser (Neil Patrick Harris) has come out
of the closet. Congrats to him for coming forward , but my
sister will be crushed.. she loved him hahahhahahhahahah. Didn't
see that one coming ....

Wonder what that'll do to his show on CBS. Not that I care either way (I don't watch the show), but he portrays a womanizer on the show and it could cause some viewers to tune out. Maybe not, but the viewing public are fickle.

I can stand respectful jokes. Most of all, I admire clever ones. A really bad movie called "The stepford wives" had a good joke about homosexuality. One of the characters, who's brain had an intervention, was the gay couple of a democrat. The democrat had beige clothing, and his partner was all colourful dressed. After the intervention on his brain, he had beige clothing too. When the chip is turned off, he wakes up, look at hymself and scream in horror "¡¡¿ WHAT AM I WEARING ?!!". Very true, we have to keep a sense of humour. In this overly politically correct age it is becoming impossible to speak without offending someone. I work in the broadcast industry and many of my friends are gay; most of them think Team America and the F A G joke really funny. Similarly my coloured friends find Blazing Saddles funny. hahah.. well have you seen Blazing Saddles by chance? It is clever in spades... but pulls no punches.. about calling a spade.. a spade hahahhaha. I know what do mean about the respectful nature of humour though... mainly why I can't relate to much of what passes for humour these days. Maybe I'm finally getting old.. but all the 'potty mouth' and nature of many comedies today just aren't that funny I guess. I guess it is all about equalty. I mena, those Krishnas are kicked, but as human beings... . Everybody can receive a judo kick, regardless sex, religion, sexual condition or political orientation. That joke doesn't say anything about kicks being delivered only to certain religious groups (if I remember correctly, a couple salesmen get kicks too on that same sequence); the joke says that if you get in the way of someone, you might get a kick. As for today's humor; I'll go with Wallace and Gromit. My favourite comediants this days are the writters from Aardman. It is specially difficult to create clean jokes that actually work. And, if compared to any modern comedy, Wallace and Gromit movies are just way ahead. And using nothing but white jokes.

Mmm... it must have been difficult fo that Doogie Houser guy to have to kiss girls as a job. I mean, I would never kiss a guy, not even for 50 million dolars or whatever they throw as payment. I would kiss 50 million girls for a cent, but a guy, job or not, not a chance in hell. On the other side of the comment, but still on the kissing theme, a couple of friends always tell me that I'll never know how sad it is for them not to be able to kiss, hugh or show affection in any way to each other when in public. I can walk holding hands with my sweet Mercedes, I can kiss her anywhere I want, I can even kiss her in the cleivege when I feel like (though she tends to turn a bit red when I do this); and never feel that I might get some kind of violent reaction from people on the street. Gay people can't do that; at least on this horrible country. That's kind of sad. So, one would guess that saying it openly is a good thing for him to do, in order to help this situation of rejection to be terminated. ------------- ¡Beware of the Bee! |

I've always wondered about this country where personal freedom is supposedly valued.. yet by certain aspects of this country (staying out of politics) such things are on par with being the Anti-Christ. The puritanical nature of this country is fascinating to look at intellectually.. yet maddening to live in. Especially for me who supports personal freedoms so strongly. I hope Neil gets good fortune and support from CBS for his decision to come out.
