| I was watching some music on TV and normally it's pretty boring stuff. But then a clip came along of someone I never heard of: Matisyahu - King without a castle. I liked it! What is this reggae-yiddish-rap with great guitar and does anybody here know more about it? |

He's been popular in SoCal for quite a while already. He's 100% Jew, born and raised. He was an MC for a few other groups. Ah whatever... Wikipedia him already :) |

Thanks. I don't know what SoCal is. I posted this without researching the net.. I know now that I typed the song title wrong, it's "King without a Crown". What I liked about it is the combination of the different stiles. I never heard this before (reggae+rap+yiddish) and I really liked the guitar player.
Do you think he (or they) is (are) any good?

It's more or less stoner music --- reggae for the wealthy. So yeah, I guess I like it, though it's a bit sugary for me. Bob Marley suits me a bit better. EDIT: SoCal = Southern California |
