I love that album...

the title track is my fave as well, I like the way the tune before "Taunta" slides over into the title track.
Kinda like it does on Master of reality by Black sabbath.

I also love travelling in the dark a lot.

I think Felix Papalardi "producer of Cream" had a great voice, to bad his wife offed him, that was a real shame.Cry

Great record.

Nah! I think Nantucket is their best song

Climbing, NS  and the self-titled (my fave) are all good

Avalanche is also correct and the double live has good moments

I find Mountain worked best once they had Montreal-born Corky Laing with them. Pappalardi was also a character

Avoid the later stuff

Of interest is the West Bruce Lqing power trio also

"Nantucket Sleighride" was definitely their best release. Every track on that album is superb. Their earlier albums were certainly good, the song "Theme from an imaginary western" (also done by Greenslade) is well worth seeking out.

There's an excellent double CD collection called "Over the top" which contains most of "Nantucket sleighride".

While The Progtologist is correct in calling Climbing their first album, Leslie actually put out a solo album before that titled Mountain. If you can find this one, it is well worth the trouble. A precursor to what came later. Highly recommended from this Mountain fan. It was released in 1969.

If you like what you hear on Climbing & NS, you will most likely enjoy this one as well.
