Well I got to see the APP at BB Kings on Wed. I got there in time for soundcheck and I noticed that his band looks a little younger than I had seen them last time. And its cause he has a new band, all americans, actually most were from the NYC area.

They did songs from nearly every album but my favorite of course, Try Anything Once.. but they did most of the biggies, like Eye in the Sky, IRobot, the Raven, Don't Want to Be Like You, Prime Time, and quite a few off the new album including my favorite "Return to Tunguska" which has David Gilmour playing on the studio version. The guitarist, Godfrey Townshend, actually did a great job playing the Gilmour part.

My only complaint is that the singer, PJ Olson, and the bassist, John Montagna seemed like they should be in Bon Jovi.. not APP.. so it did have quite a few cheesy moments.. for me anyway.

Also I think I'm at that age where people screaming and hollering during a show starts to bother me.. I would of been upset but I found out the couple was the drummers grandparents from New Jersey of course... I was wondering why half the place seemed to be filled with senior citizens. The band had all their relatives there.

Here's a few pics... check out PJ's nails.. you'll see what I mean!

Glad to hear that the new guitarist is holding his own.  I saw them touring with Yes a few years back, and Ian Bairnson is a guitar hero to me.  Big shoes to fill.

And yeah, with my balding pate, perhaps I could qualify for that Senior Citizens discount, too.
