Genesis bloody well deserve top spot for their work with Gabriel

I have about 5 of those albums between 400 and 500... is that a good thing?

How is Riverside's "Second Life Syndrome" better than VdGG's "Pawn Hearts", now come on!

And Tool "Aenima" in the top 100?  Some debate whether they're prog as it is.  I do like Tool mind you.

Infact, I think Pawn Hearts is better than The Snow Goose and Mirage, but I'm just biased!

Hi Gecko,

Leave that top chart, its good for initially getting to know prog, but not more.

You are way past that now. Don't make the chart a standard yo umust live up to, or something that gets you upset. Ignore it and look for new good music.

Oh God...I would pay money just to see the expresssion in some people's face

Sadly it's not Foxtrot or Nursery Cryme, because IMO both are superior, and honestly I believe CTTE is better than SEBTP.

Yep, Ivan, CTTE is certainly better than SEBTP.

It´s also my opinion that both albums leave NC and Foxtrot in the dust.

Stop this mental masturbation about top 100 ranking!!!

...it's a rank of the most popular albums absolutely not of the best 100 because it's impossible to determinate which one's the best...

..just think to Riverside's "Second Life Syndrome" better than VdGG's "Pawn Hearts"  ...you understand that this is a kind of joke!!!

...there is also stupid people making false reviews giving 5 stars to Thick as a Brick and 1 star to Selling England and Close to the Edge just to change the ranking...I hope those reviews are gonna be erased as soon as possible..

anyway stop those pathetic threads!

The ruthless reign of terror has come to an end. The evil regime that was lead by CTTE is over.

And here comes the new dictator -  SEBTP!

(this is said in a very light spirit in the Snow dog tradition, so no offense everyone).

Good question. As far as I can see, no-one has reviewed the top 3 today, so how can the positions change?

Posted By: VanderGraafKommandöh

Is it possible to separare LPs from EPs?  For those not from the vinyl world, that means albums and singles!

It's just I don't tend to buy EPs, so that Porcupine Tree EP is going to have less reviews than an album, I should think.  But then again, Picchio Dal Pozzo has 17 ratings too, but that's an obscure Italian Canterbury band.

As somebody said, it's just a list guys, who cares what is number one.

A quick question:

Would you say those albums with less ratings, are better albums?  Or is that a misconception?

Doesn't matter to me which is number 1, I'll still listen to 28 of the top 30 regularly.

Guess which two don't get much play around my house???

If you need a hint I was listening to most of this music when it was first released! That should narrow it down...

This is rediculous!!! how can an album like SEBTP with clap such as More Fool Me take over the spot that God meant to be taken by CTTE is beyond me. Close to the edge is the ultimate masterpiece of all times. it's a flawless piece of music, greatest thing ever made in the world, PERIOD. if you disagree you obviously don't know much about music or you're a rap fan and shoud therefore shut the hell up. SEBTP is good, but seriously how can you even compare???! its soooooooooo much weaker than CTTE! in fact, SEBTP is worse than relayer and tfto too. And it's the weakest Gabriel Genesis album ever. Even the best gabriel Genesis album is nowhere close to being as majestically good as CTTE. Jon Andersons voice is like an angel from heavens. Gabriel has a pop voice. thats why his solo career is pop, because he sucks. And collins sucks too.

COME ON PEOPLE RATE CTTE WITH FIVE STARS NOW OR GO TO HELL. IF IT"S NOT NUBBBER ONE IN TWO HOURS, I HATE YOU!!!

I don't like CTTE, not my favorite Yes album at all, I don't care if its in the top ten but really #1?? You gotta be kidding.  I definitely hope it stays lower than #1.  I prefer many of the other top ranked albums to CTTE.

  • Thank this to those guys who shout corruption and make false accusations,

Every action causes a reaction, the people  who came and watched how Genesis was attacked by ONE PERSON WHO CLAIMED BEING A YES FAN (and I say claim because a real Yes, Genesis, ELP, Floyd, Crimson or Tull fan doesn't hate another great Prog band) made their reviews and sent CTTE to the fourth place.

And it's a pitty, I beliebe SEBTP is not really as good as CTTE, if you ask me for Foxtrot...probably, but SEBTP I don't believe.

I still don't understand how CTTE went down - There were no reviews of the top 4 in the last couple of days - exept the recent 5 star review of CTTE. Still, the numbers of reviews for CTTE went up and the average grade went down, it's strange. Not that I want CTTE to be in the first place.

It's because of those stupid idiots giving 1 star reviews and not even say why.
"I don't like it, it's overrated" OH mY GoD!! OVERRATED.
Actually I like Selling England more than CTTE, but CTTE is absolutely a 5 star album.

Ermm yes there were like 4-5 1-star reviews of CTTE and few went this way:
    "AKSJFKJFASKAJFKJFKJ KJAKFAJVKAJKJKAJVJAKSKJavasvksafpasafkjapksfjpkfjKAVJAVJI" =D great job

    Hi, Ansen!

Hey, Stony! Did you give CTTE five stars yet? AND EMAIL ALL YOUR FRIENDS TO DO IT TOOOO!!!

Close to the Edge is a Yes album.

What????? I know that! now get it back up to number one goddamnit!

After tedious research, I have concluded that the only way for Close to the Edge to reach #1 is for it to recieve a substantial number of good ratings.

are you mocking me???? youre all just a bunch of stupid genesis fanboys trying to get sebtp on number one.

GUESS WHAT - IT WON"T WORK.

CTTE is meant to be up there. no matter what you do, it's destiny is to rereach number one spot.

You wouldnt be related to Progger by any chance

It's been a hard week for our contestants. Numerous changes have caused havoc and mayhem and constant positions changes have occured. No album is secure in its sopt. Any moment some snotty little brat can just come in, make a bloody review and turn the whole chart upside down.

Strange alliances have been made. The Sentinel is keeping the Popol Vuh at his place in order to defend the Fragil just behind him.

The rumor has it that Close To The Edge will be appearing here soon, whic is no surprise, given its latest frantic position shifts in the top 10.

    • Foxtrot
    • CTTE
    • SEBTP
    • TAAB
    • DSOTM
Tough IMO Dark Side doesn't deserve to be there.

BTW, my previous fanboyish posts were a joke, sorry if it sounded too serious - some people fell for it I see

I just disregard the top 100 list.

As I said in a previous thread, any list of progressive rock that has Riverside
listed above ANY Van Der Graaf Generator or Gentle Giant album and has
only ONE kansas album at number 97, is not that requitable of a list.

It's hard to make a list that reflects the users reviews and is highly accurate.
I give them props for putting the list together as it is what it is and nothing
more. Take the list for what it is, not for what it isn't.
