My music library is pretty substantial, as I'm sure many of yours are. There are albums,cd's I listen to on a constant basis, some fad heat of the times albums that come and go, and then there is the forever in the background albums. Albums that I only listen too once or twice in a year, but, I'd never be without those albums! When a certain season of the year comes around or a particular event or anniversary, anything that hits our emotions dead on! There's always that one album that I throw on,that album I know will, fit the bill, sooth the pain, bring about the muse.

What is your favourite "once a year album". That one disc that you just can't explain, but would never put- down or be without? Mine for the record is Then Play On by Fleetwood Mac.

Can - Tago Mago
Type O Negative - World Coming Down

Ironically, each of these albums has a different meaning for me.

I listen to Tago Mago so rarely because...well, I don't like it too much. A few songs on it I really enjoy, but some of it I just can't wrap my head around. I do listen to it once a year, though -- to see if maybe I could enjoy it fully. Perhaps I've grown enough in that year to really understand the album. To be honest, I haven't...yet.

As for Type O, that is my favorite album of theirs, and it simply fits the best on Halloween or around that time. One of my favorite albums of all time, but during the rest of the year I'm too preoccupied with getting my hands on new music to really go back to the old stuff that I love. I know that about once a year I can sit back and really ENJOY this album, in all its dark & gloomy glory.
