Popped into our local Blackwells bookshop at lunchtime and found them selling a heap of different short books under the series header 33 1/3. for 2 quid (reduced from 7 pounds sterling (or 10 US)). Each of these books tells the story behind the making of a famous album, currently reading The Piper At The Gate Of Dawn, and a real bargain at 2 quid - although I won't have touched it at its original price.  Have also The Kinks Village Preservation Society, Velvet Underground & Nico, Electric Ladyland, Ok Computer. Andf if they were available I would have had Forever Changes and Grace - Aqualung is there too. BTW anybody else in the UK near a Blackwells, maybe they would like to see if they could nail down Grace and Forever Changes for me........ some form of reciprocation could be arranged.

During my stay in London during this WE, I plan to head out to Helter Skelter bookshop. I heard this has everything available in stock. Maybe I will find them there.

Blackwells Bookshop locally  have gone berserk and reduced these excellent little books to one pound sterling each - and now bought another half dozen, admittedly  I wouldn't have bought at full price. Half way through Electric Ladyland (research for tonight's radio show) and impressed by the author's (John Perry) research, knowledge, enthusiasm and skills at telling a story

Last We in London , I picked up at Foykles the Electric Ladyland and Aqualung books for 5 pounds each.

I have no idea when I will have time for them. I should plan a week sickleave and get stuck in bed, to catch up on my reading.
