I opened a discussion a few months ago, in which I asked how if and can I get a band inserted into the site. I got a good answer, that there is a link that specifies the procedure and what I have to do. I spent a few weeks working on a complete form of a band submission, and sent it to the appropriate e-mail address but didn't get an answer, and I saw nothing was being done. I sent another e-mail - still nothing. I sent a personal message to the head of the team that adds new bands, and yet - nothing.
can anyone help me with this? I put a lot of work into the form, and it's a shame to see it wasted withou a decet answer at least.
thanks.

Agreed - I've heard nothing about my Lone Star submission from September. I appreciate the guys on the team are busy, but we should at least be able to get some idea of how things are going.

they can't be too busy to send a lousy answer - "we're busy right now, we'll discuss the request later on". they claim they want more people to visit the site and stay on it, so they won't disqualify requests that fulfill they're demands, but they don't even have the decency to give the shortest answer to people who put a great effort into these things.

to people who view this topic but don't reply because they think it's an injustice to the guys who run this site: it's your duty, if you call yourself prog-fans, to fight for our rights as visitors. if we have a right to suggest bands being inserted into the site, it should be respected at least with an answer. even if you don't care for this issue specifically, you should express your opinion, so this issue will earn a response from the people in charge. if you just read it and ignore, your like slaves of the injustice system.

It would be really nice if someone from the band submissions team would respond to this.

There is no band admission team anymore ... many people ask me about what happened to their submissions. Truth is: I don't know for sure. I can tell you that all submissions sent to the email address were received, but the band admission team faced much resistance from members, collabs etc. and was disbanded. Only the head of the team dealt with that email account ... I'll ask Tony if he could contact the team head(s) and collect the email, so we (special collabs) can deal with them. Many have been dealt with, but not all of them.
A few days ago the situation changed however ... now every Special Collaborator can add bands. Until a member of the admin team post anything definitive here, my advice on how to proceed with new band requests is this:
- Find a special collaborator who is familiar with the genre and inform him of the band. If possible, create a thread or poll about the band which contains the infos about the band, and include a link to that thread in the PM.
- Prog Metal addition requests should be sent to me, or any other Prog Metal expert among the special collabs (TheProgtologist, Useful_Idiot, Vanwarp, king16, FloydWright, ...) ... I'll add the band to my own list of possible additions, and we'll discuss it. You can bookmark the page: http://www.mikeenregalia.com/ProgMetal.html - http://www.mikeenregalia.com/ProgMetal.html
Sorry guys, I know this is frustrating. Remember that we (most special collabs) are not employees of this website - just contributing in out spare time.

To bobo and chopper, firstly an apology on behalf of the site. In this respect we fell short of expectations for a while ...
Believe me the situation was just as frustrating from the inside as it must have been from the outside.
While the situation has now been resolved in terms of special collabs
adding bands, the procecure regarding submissions from outside still
hasn't been totally clarified and we will try and sort it out as soon
as possible.
Until then MikeEnR's suggestion is wholly workable.
I will try right now what has happened to chopper's Lone Star submission and bobo's efforts too ... what was the band please?
Apologies again.

Mike/Trotsky,
thanks for the updates. I know you guys are volunteers and, believe me,
I fully appreciate the great job you all do but, having spent a couple
of hours getting my Lone Star stuff together, I did want to know what
happened to it.
Thanks again.

Just a suggestion - couldn't we start up a new poll section just for
new bands? If anyone wanted to suggest a new band for inclusion in PA,
they would just create a new yes/no poll (with a link to a file on
YouSendIt.com for anyone to download) and the result would determine
whether the band gets in or not.
Not perfect I know, but better than nothing.
