In the first couple of months of 2025 I remember seeing an album that was in the top ten and maybe even top five but now it seems to have disappeared completely for some reason. Maybe the band was removed from PA (not sure). I don't remember the name of the album or band but I'm pretty sure it was either in neo or crossover. Does anyone know what I am referring to and what happened to it?

^ It could possibly have been this one:  https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=89918" rel="nofollow - https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=89918 , which was released on February 13, 2025. There were a load of 5 star ratings for this album by new accounts, which were apparently being created every day. In the end, after checking all these accounts carefully, Greg deleted all the bogus 5* ratings, so the album would have probably been high in the ratings one day, then gone altogether the next.

It was reported and dealt with  https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=28343&PID=6178148#6178148" rel="nofollow - here .

No, actually that's not it but it turns out I figured out which one it is. It's this band called Moonshine Blast. I suppose what happened was that it was submitted in early 2025 but it apparently was actually released in late 2024 (December it looks like) and so initially it got lumped in with the 2025 albums. It was in the top five for a little while in early February or so but now it's something like number 73 (but 4.13 which is still a very good score). http:// www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=87770" rel="nofollow -  https://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=87770

Yeah, I changed Moonshine Blast a few days ago to 2024 after it came up in Mike's https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=134360&PID=6179463#6179463" rel="nofollow - Aoty 2025: Ongoing Release Polls topic as wrongly dated.

The album was released on 6th December 2024, not 8th February 2025 as we currently have it. The album didn't appear on Bandcamp until that date, but the CD and most other digital streams were released back in December last year. I'll report this as an error for the E&O team to deal with (I could edit the album myself I suppose, but I think it's best that the E&O team handle it. Embarrassed)

^ Don't bother, missed that, I'll fix that now. Thanks, David.

^ Thanks, I had confirmed it with discogs and rateyourmusic before I changed the year a few days ago, and again now, but did not think to check the info in the album's release date details. I'll try to remember to check that next time I move an album.

Well this is a bit of a strange coincidence. Almost simultaneously with our discussion here about Moonshine Blast's latest album, the band were uploading a new video to YouTube of a live performance of 'Mars', the opening track of their first album 'Reality Fear', from a show they played in February 2025 at Le Zèbre de Belleville in Paris:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rErIhwg4SA" rel="nofollow -

That link above doesn't quite work for some reason.

Excellent album, why bands release albums that late in December is a mystery to me Smile

Both here and at AP Bandcamp is usually a source of wrong release dates ... the date shown there is usually when the release was first released on Bandcamp. In some cases that's years or decades after the original release date. When in doubt I usually look it up on Musicbrainz or Discogs.

Oh ok. Thanks. Yeah, the Jupiter Fungus album was released late also and probably missed a bunch of year end lists also. I don't get it either.
