King Crimson Discipline was a great musical adventure, shockingly different from their previous releases. GFTO was a tad too mainstream for my tastes and didn't age well.

I wasn't going to vote but I feel disloyal not doing so. Made so many topics myself that I feel I have some moral responsibility to participate in others even if I feel I have very little of substance or passion to add to the conversation.

While I am not that big on post 70s King Crimson, I do still respect and much prefer Discipline to Going for the One (or Going for the Buns as it is sometimes known). I found that album really poor (lame is the word that comes to mind) when I first heard it in the 80s and when I tried it again in the past few years. Well, I liked Awaken, but overall it sounded too slick and commercial for me. Mind you, I don't think highly of the album Close to the Edge so I might be considered a Philistine in Prog circles.

Note: I have not heard Bill Bruford's Earthworks - Live in Santiago.

Yes, easily. Awaken by itself carries the day.

Discipline. I'm always left with long rectangles.
