Here is the third installment in these poll series dedicated to the year 2002! As far as I'm concerned this is a fantastic year for heavy music with progressive leanings, too many favorites here making it difficult to choose... | Would have voted for Porcupine Tree, but IMHO it's not exactly "heavy prog". They're quite heavy at times, but much less so than most other bands in the poll. |

In Absentia, the first album where PT goes heavy. Love Vapor Trails as well, both of those have huge nostalgia factors with me. And I would also mention NEBELNEST's Nova Express. Awesome record. ------------- "The wind is slowly tearing her apart" "Sad Rain" ANEKDOTEN |

It seems like a clear win for 'In Absentia'. Given the variety of bands and albums here, I was hoping that they might have some harder competition; not that I am unhappy with the results, just surprised. |
