Another rather arbitrary list of albums from acts not in PA, please vote for up to three albums (or more if you desire). Feel free to vote with limited familiarity as I would not expect many to be familiar with many of these choices. I only went with albums i know and like, but are not necessarily my favourites by the artists.

Here are the options that I had in https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=132720" rel="nofollow - part one :

Air - 10 000 Hz Legend (2001)
Beach House - Bloom (2012)
Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children (1998)
Broadcast - The Noise Made by People (2000)
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Your Funeral My Trial (1986)
Cocteau Twins - Treasure (1984)
Fishmans - Long Season (1996)
PJ Harvey - White Chalk (2007)
Julia Holter - Aviary (2017)
Joy Division - Closer (1980)
Lingua Ignota - Caligula (2019)
Komeda - Pop pa Svenska (1993)
Melody's Echo Chamber - Melody's Echo Chamber (2012)
Juana Molina - Segundo (2000)
Joanna Newsom - Ys (2006)
Niechęć - Niechęć (2015)
otay:onii - Míng Míng (2021)
Perfume Genius - Ugly Season (2022)
Bruno Pernadas - Those Who Throw Objects at the Crocodiles Will Be Asked to Retrieve Them (2016)
Portishead - Third (2008)
Siouxsie and The Banshees - Juju (1981)
Stereolab - Dots and Loops (1997)
Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz (2010)
Vanishing Twin - The Age of Immunology (2019)
Weyes Blood - And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow (2022)
Xiu Xiu - Plays the Music of Twin Peaks (2016)

Not going to think long about this, because I could doubt about my choices, but these three immediately connect with me: The Comet Is Coming, Depeche Mode and above all Tindersticks...

^ Yes, indeed on Hospice. Good addition with Renaldo and the Loaf. I replaced that with a biggie, The Smiths' the Queen Is Dead (1986) (now, insert random percentage here, more accurate).

As always there are more than three voteworthy albums here. The Necks album stands out for me, and I'm all the more happy to vote for it as I'll see them live next week Monday.  Other candidates for votes are The Comet is Coming, Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man, and Tuxedomoon, and there are a few more that I really like. I think at the end of the day the Comet is Coming albums don't impress me quite as much as seeing them live, so I'll vote for Necks -Tuxedomoon - Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man.

^ Happy for you seeing The Necks. And very glad to have people here where our interests in the arts converge so much. And I appreciate those who I may have less in common with when it comes to music but we still find common ground/ music which we can both appreciate despite our other differences.

What with it being my list choosing three can feel a bit silly for my own polls when culling from albums I like, but I usually have preferences de l'instant.

I will go with:
Glenn Branca - The Ascension (such an awesome album, imo)
The Necks - Hanging Gardens
Dear Laika - Pluperfect Mind

Many thanks to all who took the time to post. It is genuinely much appreciated.

^Actually I think I had heard some stuff from the Glenn Branca album long ago (but it may have been another one) and wasn't much impressed, but today I checked it out again and it's actually awesome (although I'm not quite as keen on some other Branca stuff I also came across).

^ Of his stuff, I only know his Ascension album well. I think it's really ahead of the curve. I love the post-rock vibe in, say, the title track. It feels ahead of its time to me. Progressive, and Prog, to me.

And for one with similarities, gonna have to do another with Rhys Chatham:
